Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (2/9/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby's DraftKings. DFS lineup picks for Early Morning Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 2/09/21. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello Esports enthusiasts and welcome back to our Esports coverage of CS:GO DFS! Oh, how it feels good to be back! With some sports such as NFL coming to an end and LoL taking a pause for the Lunar New Year, we get the wonders of CS:GO back! We have the Blast Premier Spring on our hands this week as we have Complexity taking on G2 as well as Vitality going against Evil Geniuses. My name is Koby and I'll be here to help make those tough decisions on who to play and who not to play in your DFS contests!

Today we saw a massive upset in Poizon's return to Complexity's lineup as they smoked Vitality and proving they are back and ready to make a championship run. We also saw G2 squeak out a close win against Evil Geniuses where both games ended with a round score of 16-12 even with poor performances of Niko and kennyS. Tomorrow we get the winners and losers of each game playing each other. So let's get right into it! Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on FanDuel and DraftKings for Wednesday, February 9th at 10:30 AM ET.

Be sure to also check out our awesome CS:GO Premium DFS Tools including our Research Station, Projections, and DFS Cheat Sheets! CS:GO DFS Picks

Best of 3 Series

  • Complexity  vs. G2
  • Vitality vs. Evil Geniuses

DFS Captain Plays

ZyWoO: The last time I saw ZywOo drop a negative performance was back in November against Faze where he went -5 but still proceeded to have 40 kills on the day. Before that it was August. ZywOo simply just does not have consecutive bad games. I had to go back over a year ago to find consecutive negative games.

ZywOo is one of the safest plays on the slate and will more than likely be the highest owned play on the slate. Just go ahead and lock him in because he more than likely will be getting his revenge on EG tomorrow and it's going to be bloody. Whether you put him at captain or not is a complete leverage play. If you play him at a flex you are going to have to find the guy who surpasses him, and there aren't many options of plays to do that. So fade at your own risk.

k0nfig: It's very hard to look over the last month or so and see how bad of a team Complexity was without Poizon. He easily has to be the glue to this team because they came out and crushed Vitality's souls. For this reason, I'm looking at K0nfig as if the last month or so didn't exist. k0nfig has been one of the best players on Complexity since joining them. He and BlameF work together so well, they are like bread and butter. So either one of these guys is a great contrarian play at Captain and you get them at a little bit better price point as well letting you get some better plays in the rest of your spots. K0nfig has a 1.15 K/D and is getting about .75 kills per round and .67 deaths per round.

I do think a lot of people see how bad Complexity has been the last month or so and hops on the G2 train but they looked really good against Vitality today and I'll ride Complexity and hope it doesn't bite me in the ass.

Other captain plays: BlameF, Niko, hunter,

DFS Value Plays

jks: Here is our chalk for the day. We are getting tremendous value on JKS here at 5k on DK. He is by far a top 3 play on his team and is priced as the 3rd cheapest on the slate! JKS came over from 100 Thieves a couple of months ago and fit right in with the team consistently dropping positive kills games and being a reliable source for kills and assists on the team. He had a rough patch right before Poizon left and while he was gone but rebounded very well today against Vitality going +11 on the day. If you plan on having k0nfig or ZywOo, jks is going to make it a lot easier to get a lineup you really like. All-time jks holds a 1.14 K/D and is averaging .72 kills per round and .63 deaths per round.

Cerq: I don't love a lot of the value plays on this slate, so we are going to go bottom of the barrel type play. Cerq has shown upside in wins before and although I don't think they win. He could provide a little bit of upside as the cheapest play on DK at 4.4k. We honestly aren't looking for much out of him and who knows, we could see Vitality dive again and not show up tomorrow either its definitely in the realm of possibilities, and if EG takes advantage of that CerQ could benefit greatly from it and his price might be worth taking the risk of popping him in a couple of your lineups so that you can play up elsewhere. Cerq averages about a 1.08 K/D and is getting about .68 kills per round and .63 deaths per round.

Other Value Plays: Amanek, RUSH, Stanislaw(PUNT), apEX(risky)

Top Stacks / Team Picks

Vitality: The only issue I see with stacking Vitality here is all the sub risks. They are consistently one of the best teams in the league and I'm not gonna let one loss to Complexity take me completely in a different direction. Vitality is a top 3 team and they should come out looking to improve on a horrible day that they had. Evil Geniuses are a great place to start with that. They have solid team play but they just aren't at the level of competition that some of these top 10 teams are. Look at this as a rebound spot for Vitality.

ZyWoO and RPK are definitely your safest plays on the team and apex has had issues with his performance dropping 5 negative games in a row, his price is okay but you are just looking for a sweep if you play him and hope he pulls it together and goes at least even on the day. Shox, Nivera, and Misutaaa are all tossups at this point. It's all map dependent on who plays what map and unfortunately we won't know the maps until after lock. Making all three of them extremely risky to use. Shox and misutaaa are also severely overpriced and it's a risk I don't feel comfortable taking. Nivera we get a really nice discount but he also plays the least and is the clear 6th man and it's likely he only plays one game.

Complexity: The return of poizon might have been the spark Complexity needed to get back into the winning category, since the unfortunate departure of poizon due to a medical emergency, Complexity as a team had one map win out of 11 maps. Every other match they were swept and the games weren't even close either. Poizon came back today though and they swept Vitality pretty favorably and even forcing a negative game on ZyWoO which is an insanely rare achievement.

This game against G2 is going to be tough but if they continue their excellent play, I see no reason to not play Complexity. K0nfig and BlameF are definitely top plays and I really like jks and poizon as well. RUSH is a value play at this point but he doesn't tend to score well unless the game ends in a sweep and G2 is a tough team that could push Complexity to a Game 3. Stick with the main 4 guys for now until RUSH shows improvement.

Other Top Stacks/ Teams: G2

Sub-Risks

Vitality: Misutaaa, Nivera, shox
