Cooper Bowman is a fantasy baseball prospect sleeper and minor leaguer to know for Week 10 (2024). Read MLB prospects outlooks for fantasy baseball rookies, call-ups.

CURRENT LEVEL: Double-A
2024 STATS: 41 G, .253 AVG, 6 HR, 31 RBI, 32 R, 19 SB, 13.3% BB%, 21.8% K%, .367 wOBA, 120 wRC+
ANALYSIS: Cooper Bowman is a former 2021 fourth-round draft pick who is making a push for at least a promotion to Triple-A, but could see the big leagues before long. Over his first 21 games this season, the 24-year-old hit just .152 (12-for-79) with three extra-base hits (two HR), however, over the last 20 games he's hitting .354 (28-for-79) with 13 extra-base hits (four HR). If not for an 0-for-1 game when he came in as a pinch hitter, the right-handed hitter would be riding a 19-game hit streak.
What has never been in doubt is the youngster's speed. He pilfered 47 bags in 2022 and another 38 in 2023. So far in 2024, he's up to 19 steals in 41 games. (Update: Bowman stole his 20th bag Saturday night)

Zach Gelof belted 14 homers for the A's in 2023 over the course of just 69 games on the back of an 11.1% Barrel%, along with a .267 BA, .357 wOBA, and 133 wRC+, but he's been unable to recreate that success in 2024. Gelof is hitting .194 with a .256 wOBA and 68 wRC+ this season, so there is certainly an opportunity for someone to step in and produce, and the second base options at Triple-A aren't great. MLB.com's Top Prospects list has an ETA for Bowman of 2024, and at this rate it could be sooner in 2024 rather than later. Managers in need of stolen bases would be wise to keep an eye on his ascent.
