ANALYSIS: The first month of the 2024 season was a difficult one for Boston Red Sox shortstop/outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela. In the 30 games to start the year, Rafaela hit a forgetful .186 with two home runs and four stolen bases. The last 14 games, however, have told a different story, Rafaela has been batting .294 with two HRs, two SBs, and 11 RBI, which has caused him to start flying off waiver wires everywhere (up 13% claimed over the last 24 hours)
Ceddanne Rafaela continues to see success when he goes the other way.

Rafaela, known as an elite defender, can also do damage with both his bat and his legs. A career .280 hitter in five seasons of minor league ball, the 23-year-old defensive wizard, also crushed 60 HRs, 264 RBIs, and stole 115 bases over seven different levels of competition.
The boys in Beantown have been playing better than expected so far this season, after spending 2023 in the AL East basement, they sit just one and a half games out of the wild card.
There's still a lot of baseball left to play, and if Rafaela is just starting to hit his stride, it's reasonable to think he could finish this year with 20 HRs/25 SBs. Although he's already leading the team in RBI with 37, it would be a bonus if he could move his way toward the top of the batting order to increase his runs scored total.
