Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (6/14/20) - DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy eSports

Dan Palyo's DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 6/14/20. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for FanDuel and DraftKings! After taking Saturday off (the slates just come out too late on Friday night and start too early on Saturday), I'm back with my analysis and top recommendations for the Sunday COD slate.

We have a two-match slate on Sunday as the semifinals are set with a surprise appearance by the L.A. Guerrillas in this weekend's final four. If you've never played COD DFS, don't worry - I'm going to include a breakdown of the scoring and basics here in addition to my picks for Friday's slate. If you want more COD content, our premium Esports package contains user-friendly cheat sheets for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday slates.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings and FanDuel for Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at 4:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @ThunderDanDFS as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Minnesota Home Series (Best of 5)

  • Atlanta Faze (-1400) vs. L.A. Guerrillas
  • Florida Mutineers vs. Dallas Empire (-315)

Slate Overview

We have two really compelling matchups here today and two pretty large favorites in Atlanta and Dallas. We usually never see a team as heavily favored as Atlanta on Sunday, but that's because the Guerrilas are the team in the worst record in the league while Atlanta is one of the best. The Florida/Dallas matchup has a higher over/under for games at 4.5 than Atlanta/L.A at 3.5, but I think we could potentially leverage that and stack the Guerrillas and the Faze if people are going to flock to the other game.

L.A. has been a much-improved team lately and they've gone 2-1 so far this weekend with wins over Toronto and a really nice win against Chicago late last night to get them into the semis. I don't think they can win, but I do they think they can get this match into a fourth round, which might be all they need to do in order to have players in this match score well. Atlanta dominates in hardpoint rounds, but their weakness is search and destroy, which happens to be L.A.'s best format. We also saw Atlanta get pushed to five games by a lesser Seattle team on Friday as -4000 favorites so I am not reading into these odds more than we need to.

The Florida/Dallas matchup has a great chance at going the full five games and so we can't ignore it either. Dallas is the stronger team, but Florida is playing well this weekend as they started 2-0. Dallas's only loss came in a hard-fought match against Atlanta 3-2. This is another situation where one team's strength is another team's weakness as Dallas is great in search and destroy but vulnerable in domination and Florida vice versa. Both teams are solid in hardpoint and those rounds could be high-scoring. Full game stacks of both these matchups are going to be viable on this slate, as well as playing smaller stacks from both games.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played is as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. The Domination round is a good bit different than the others as teams attempt to control flag points on the map. These rounds can be bloody, but also can be relatively low-scoring depending on how aggressive or defensive teams get in this round. Players can earn +1 for successful flag captures during this domination round.
  6. There are NO sweep or "games not played" bonuses for teams or players that finish their match early. That means we don't necessarily have to target the biggest favorites on each slate.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Simp and Ceilium are both in play here for Atlanta as the main carries on Atlanta. Both have excellent K/D ratios of 1.19 and 1.21, respectively, and average over 32 DK points per round of hardpoint. Simp will likely be a little more popular at captain, but Ceilium has been just as good or better in many of their matches.

Shotzzy is the most expensive player on the slate (on DraftKings) and is second only behind Simp in pricing on FanDuel. He's well worth it, however, as we have seen him put up some massive performances already this weekend. Jamming him in with one of the Atlanta studs isn't all that tough to do on DraftKings with softer pricing, but it may be a challenge on FanDuel.

Other captain plays: Skyz, Blazt (contrarian for GPPs)

COD DFS Value Plays

Decemate is a really underpriced piece on LAG that I like (on both sites) while one of his newer teammates Saints is also really cheap on both sites. I think we need to look to the Guerrilas for value today. They have been scoring well even in losses and I think they go four rounds at least against Atlanta in this one.

Fero is only 7900 on FanDuel despite being the Florida player with the second-best K/D ratio after Skyz (who is only 8200 on DK). That's a great value for him and I definitely want some exposure to this Florida team with how well they are playing this weekend.

Other value plays: Priestahh (7400 on DK), Aqua

COD DFS Stacks

Atlanta should win and score well against LAG as long as we get that second hardpoint round and I really think we do today. Simp and Ceilium are in play here along with someone like Priestahh or Abezy as a third piece. I want some builds with both Simp and Ceilium but I also want to fade one of them in a few lineups and pair each stud with some of the secondary Atlanta pieces, too. I like the idea of running one or two LAG pieces in game stacks with Aqua, Blazt, and Decemate being the main pieces coming back (Saints on FanDuel, too).

Dallas has a very formidable three-man attack of Shotzzy, Huke, and Clayster and those are the three guys I will target here mainly. Their prices make it hard to fit all three of them so I may go with two-man Dallas stacks with a piece or two or Florida coming back. At least we have some solid value on the Florida side to make these game stacks work as Skyz and Fero are very fairly priced on both sites. Florida's newest player, Owakening has had an impressive weekend so far and posted a 100-kill match against the Guerrillas on Saturday. I definitely want some exposure to him, too, as he has had a major impact already.
