Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (5/10/20) - DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy eSports

Dan Palyo's DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 5/10/20. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome to back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for FanDuel and DraftKings! I'll be offering my COD analysis here for the third and final day of the Florida Mutineers home series and I hope you caught my debut article on Friday! With LoL DFS coming to an end for about a month, we are going to see more attention on some of the other eSports like CSGO, COD, Rocket League and likely better contests too. If you've never played COD DFS, don't worry - I'm going to include a breakdown of the scoring and basics here in addition to my picks for Friday's slate.

We have only two games on this slate as Atlanta, L.A., New York, and Toronto will be battling for a spot in the finals later in the evening. Atlanta is 2-0 so far this weekend having beat Paris on Friday and London yesterday. Toronto is the other undefeated team this weekend as they pulled impressive upsets of New York on Friday and Minnesota on Saturday. New York and L.A. are both 2-1, having dropped a series and worked their way into the semifinals through the losers' bracket.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings and FanDuel for Sunday, May 9th, 2020 at 4:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @ThunderDanDFS as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Florida Home Series Semifinals (Best of 5)

  • New York Subliners vs. Atlanta FaZe (-230)
  • Optic Gaming LA vs. Toronto Ultra (-130)

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played is as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. The Domination round is a good bit different than the others as teams attempt to control flag points on the map. These rounds can be bloody, but also can be relatively low-scoring depending on how aggressive or defensive teams get in this round. Players can earn +1 for successful flag captures during this domination round.
  6. There are NO sweep or "games not played" bonuses for teams or players that finish their match early. That means we don't necessarily have to target the biggest favorites on each slate.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Simp hasn't had a ceiling game yet this weekend, but is set up for a breakout here today. He's second only to his teammate Cellium in K/D ratio on this slate at 1.2 and can score well in every game mode. Atlanta is the best team in the league and you really can't go wrong with using their best player at captain or MVP even if he's chalky.

Methodz has had himself quite a weekend, posting 86 and 91 kills in Toronto's first two wins which yielded 130 and 145 FD points. The only issue is that his price has gone up dramatically to where he's the second-highest priced player on both sites. He still makes for a great play, but beware he may be popular based on how well he's played the last two matches.

Dashy is the best captain choice from this feisty Optic team and will save you a few bucks on DraftKings where paying down at captain is more viable to create more cap space is more viable. He's a 1.08 K/D player and has flashed 120+ fantasy point upside in five-round series, and this match with Toronto has potential to go five rounds today.

Other captain plays: Cellium, MackMelts (Mack on FD)

COD DFS Value Plays

Attach is priced at only 7.8k on Draftkings and 8.3k on FanDuel. While MackMeltz is the hot hand for New York, it's Attach who leads the team with a 1.04 K/D ratio. Mack will likely be chalky today based on his recent boxscores but Attach could be a sneaky value.

MajorManiak is a huge value on DraftKings where he's only 6.2k. He's cheap exposure to the best stack  (Atlanta) on the slate and a huge discount on DK compared to his FanDuel price.

Other value plays: Accuracy, MackMeltz (DK), Bance (FD)

COD DFS Stacks

Atlanta has beaten New York twice this season already, but it took four and five rounds each time. New York has played well this weekend and if they can win a game or two, then we should get a chance to see some big scores from the FaZe players. Simp is a must-play, but Cellium is just as good and can also pop off. Priestahh and Abezy are solid choices for a third Atlanta piece. Run it back with MackMeltz and/or Attach in match stacks.

Toronto has looked great this weekend. I wasn't surprised they beat New York, but beating Minnesota yesterday was impressive. Methodz is playing out of his mind and both Cammy and Classic have been rock solid these last two matches, too. Optic is a scrappy team that can win Search and Destroy or Domination rounds, which would give Toronto two guaranteed hardpoint rounds - which is where they have a big advantage and have posted some huge kill numbers. Run it back with Dashy and/or Slasher in match stacks.

Other stacks/ teams: Match stacks of both matches are viable today.
