ANALYSIS: Braelon Allen becomes an interesting waiver wire target after his two-touchdown performance in Week 2.
Braelon Allen has solidified himself as the backup running back to Breece Hall for the New York Jets. After playing just 18% of the snaps in Week 1, Allen impressed in Week 2, and his role is likely to expand.
Allen recorded seven carries for 33 yards and a touchdown, adding two receptions for 23 yards and another score. He capitalized on his red zone opportunities, finding the end zone twice with explosive plays.

Reports out of Jets training camp praised Allen’s size and speed, and he lived up to the hype in Week 2. Allen provides the Jets with a solid one-two punch in the backfield and is a great compliment to Hall in terms of running style. While Breece Hall was expected to dominate the backfield, it seems the Jets are committed to incorporating Allen into the offense, especially considering Hall's injury history.
The Jets have a tough matchup next week against the New England Patriots defense that has looked solid, however, this could lead the Jets to wanting to establish the run, giving more opportunities to the Jets backfield. Allen is an intriguing waiver wire target who provides valuable depth, and he's a must-add insurance option for all Breece Hall owners.
