One BIG Prediction

For the first time this season, Liam Lawson beats his teammate, Isack Hadjar.

Du, Du, Du, Du, Max Verstappen

The Red Bull fans always turn out in force for their man, Max Verstappen, at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, and, usually, he doesn't disappoint. In his 12 races at this track (10 Austrian Grand Prix, 2 Styrian Grand Prix), the four-time World Champion has five wins and eight podium finishes.

I have no doubt Verstappen will bag a car's worth of points for F1 Fantasy managers. However, he could cost those same managers a few vital dollars in their cost cap. The 27-year-old needs to score at least 33 points to avoid falling in price this weekend in Spielberg.

Tier B Bonanza

After the low-scoring races of Imola, Monaco, and Spain, F1 Fantasy managers were scrambling to find some budget-building enablers in Canada. Well, that's not a problem for the Austrian Grand Prix as there are seven Tier B drivers with a threshold of 10 points or lower to get the $0.6 million price rise.

The column on the right-hand side indicates the number of points each driver needs to score to increase their budget by $0.6 million. And yes, you are reading it correctly: Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso can score negative points and still increase in value.

If you don't have both Hulkenberg and Alonso, then the priority should be to grab those drivers ahead of the action at the Red Bull Ring. The next biggest question is who to bring in along with the two veterans on the grid.

Pierre Gasly is the most sensible pick because he has the lowest threshold for a rise. However, he's had a season full of untimely DNFs for F1 Fantasy and has become a bit of a F1 Fantasy troll. It's hard to trust him when you've been burned two or three times already.

Another candidate is Carlos Sainz. This track in the Austrian Alps should suit the Williams car due to its long straights. We've been waiting for the Spanish driver to become an F1 Fantasy option, and a big weekend could kick that trend off as we race toward the halfway point of the campaign.
