EPL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel (1/12/22) - English Premier League Soccer

Vince's FanDuel EPL DFS lineup picks for the late single-game slate and English Premier League soccer on 1/12/22. His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! On Wednesday we have the second of two rescheduled games from Matchday 18 that were postponements due to Covid outbreaks. While it was a bummer to have those games canceled then, it's nice to get some additional games this week. It's just a single-game slate, though. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Wednesday's slate.

The very large majority of my DFS content will be EPL-related, however, there is more soccer than just what is being played in England. If you want to chop it up with myself  and other RotoBaller writers about non-EPL leagues or other sports, consider becoming a premium member and joining our ever-growing community of DFS and fantasy sports enthusiasts!

In this article, I will be providing you with my English Premier League daily fantasy soccer lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/12/22 for the slate that locks at 2:45 pm ET. Be sure to also check out our other DFS lineup picks for other active sports. You can always find me on Twitter @vdray5 if you have any questions. Good luck, RotoBallers!

EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

West Ham vs Norwich

If West Ham (-305) want to continue making a run for a top four spot this season, they will need all three points in this game at home against a Norwich side that still sit at the bottom of the table. Norwich have now lost five straight Premier League games, and they have not scored a single goal in any of those games. West Ham should dominate all facets of this game, and we can load up and stack them. The goal total over/under is 2.5, 3.

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

In my mind, there are two ways to go about this slate. The first one is the jam in four (of the six total) West Ham attackers on this slate and hope that you maximize your exposure to their attack in this elite matchup. Norwich are allowing 2.56 goals per game in away games. They also give up shots on goal and chances created to opposing teams at top five rates, so these West Ham attackers have nice floors and ceilings. Let's talk through them.

Michail Antonio ($15) has all the makings of a chalky Captain option on this slate. He leads West Ham this year in goal contributions with nine goals and seven assists in all competitions. He has the best anytime scoring odds on the slate at +115, and he's coming into this game in good form with goals in two of his last three. The decision with him is not whether or not you want to play him, it's whether he goes in the Captain spot or a Flex spot.

That decision comes with how much you trust someone like Jarrod Bowen ($14) in your Captain spot. Bowen leads the team in assists this season with eight, and he has six goals of his own as well. He has not scored in the league since December 4th, but he's been getting solid meaningful attacking peripheral stats. He should fare well in this matchup. I definitely recommend prioritizing him over Pablo Fornals ($13) who has had a tough go of it lately. He's overpriced for his recent form which is three total goal contributions in the league since the end of August.

With Fornals difficult to trust even in this matchup, it makes more sense to save money and target Manuel Lanzini ($9) and/or Tomas Soucek ($10). Since getting back on the field with more frequency at the end of November, Lanzini has four league goals and six in all competitions. He is +135 to score in this game which are the best odds after Antonio. Soucek has nice fantasy value but more due to his safer floor. He gets a good combination of defensive and attacking peripherals. Declan Rice ($8) is on my radar solely because an Antonio-Bowen-Soucek-Lanzini lineup is not mathematically feasible. He has to be in your lineup if you want four West Ham attackers.

The only other way to approach this slate in my mind is three West Ham attackers and someone from Norwich like Milot Rashica ($11) or a little upside or Przemyslaw Placheta ($6) as a punt.

FanDuel DFS Defenders

If you go for four West Ham attackers, you'll need a Norwich defender on this slate. Max Aarons ($6) is a nice cheap option you can fit into a WHU stack. Ben Gibson ($8) has also been collecting defensives stats at a nice rate if you have a few more dollars.

If you opt for a Norwich attacker, you might have some money left for a decent West Ham defender in this matchup. Someone like Vladimir Coufal ($7) and his attacking upside should be affordable, or Issa Diop ($5) is a nice cheap way to get someone with decent defensive peripherals and a likely clean sheet bonus.

Thanks for reading my EPL DFS lineup picks breakdown on RotoBaller and good luck!
