OwnersBox Quarterback Picks

On OwnersBox, you have the option of starting two quarterbacks as this is a Superflex contest.

Kirk Cousins, MIN ($6,600) - vs SF

You might still think the 49ers defense is good if you haven't been paying close attention. And it isn't bad, but it's definitely not elite, as the team allows more fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks than "bad" defenses like Houston and Jacksonville do.

As for Cousins, he hasn't been picked off since Week 5, and he has multiple touchdown passes in all but one game since then. That includes last week's 341 yard, three-touchdown effort against the Packers. Cousins: he's good this year.

Trevor Lawrence, JAC ($6,300) - vs ATL

Atlanta allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks at 20.4 points per game.

Usually that might sound like it makes for a slam dunk play, but rookie Trevor Lawrence has gone three games in a row without a touchdown pass and hasn't hit the 200-yard mark in any of those games.

Still, if you want to bet on a week for Lawrence to finally look like the Trevor Lawrence we expect him to be, this Falcons defense is exactly the kind of week that's built for him, even if it's also true that Lawrence hasn't thrown multiple touchdowns in a game since Week 1.

(Am I second guessing this?)

OwnersBox Running Back Picks

Jonathan Taylor, IND ($7,900) - vs TB

Is Tampa allowing the third-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs?

Sure!

Do I care?

Nope!

I mean, he had four touchdowns against Buffalo, which still allows the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs even after Taylor dropped 185 yards and four scores on them.

He's now rushed for over 100 yards in three consecutive games. Indy will keep feeding him. He'll keep delivering. Who cares about the matchup?

Boston Scott, PHI ($4,500) - vs NYG

With Jordan Howard out, Scott should serve as the backup. He's had some decent games, like his 11 carries for 81 yards against Denver on just 20 snaps.

The Giants allow the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. The Eagles seem intent on using multiple backs, so I'll take Scott at a discount over taking Miles Sanders and will see how it goes.

OwnersBox Wide Receiver Picks

Elijah Moore, NYJ ($5,200) - vs HOU

Last week, it seemed like Moore became the lead receiver in New York, playing 80% of the snaps and seeing a career-high 11 targets, catching eight passes for 141 yards and a score.

141 yards won't happen again, but Moore has four touchdowns in the last three games. He's a guy who keeps finding the end zone and has a growing role heading into a meeting with the Texans, who have had some real stinkers defensively.

Laviska Shenault Jr., JAC ($4,500) - vs ATL

This is the classic "stack two guys against a bad defense" play, as we've already got Trevor Lawrence in our lineup. Why not double up on hoping Atlanta is the perfect cure for this Jaguars defense?

Shenault had five targets last week, catching all five catches for 50 yards. He has 12 targets over the last two weeks. Sure, let's go with him.
