Tony Jones Jr. is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: The New Orleans Saints offense was absolutely abysmal in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. They mustered just 128 total yards and only one touchdown. It was a far cry from the team's 38-point onslaught of the Green Bay Packers in Week 1.
It's hard to know just how productive the Saints offense is going to be this year, but there's a very clear handcuff to fantasy stud Alvin Kamara right now, and that's second-year running back Tony Jones Jr.
Jones played 35% of the snaps in Week 1 and 27% of the snaps in Week 2. Kamara has had 28 rushing attempts to lead the team and Jones has had 14. No other Saints running back has seen a carry. Ty Montgomery has played a decent amount but has been solely used as a receiving option, catching both of his targets this year for a total of eight yards.
Jones flashed his rushing potential in Week 1, rushing 11 times for 50 yards. He doesn't have much upside while Kamara is healthy. The Saints offense would likely need to be extremely productive in order for him to have fantasy value with Kamara on the field. The attraction to Jones, however, is as a lottery ticket in case Kamara goes down. Jones could have league-winning potential if he steps into the No. 1 running back position in an offense that relies heavily on a featured back. Fantasy managers in deep leagues who have space on their benches should heavily consider using one of those spaces on Jones.
