DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/5/21): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/5/21. John Brubaker's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Sunday gang! We have a ten-game slate on our hands this afternoon. We do have some rain potential in DC, but should be good to go otherwise! I'll do my best to update before lock if there are any other weather concerns with the guys I have listed below. Let's get right to it!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/29/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Corbin Burnes - MIL vs STL ($9,700)

It's kind of shocking that a pitcher like Burnes is under $10K. Burnes has been fantastic all year, coming into this one with a 2.27 ERA, a 2.39 xFIP, and a strikeout rate of 34.6%. He gets a positive matchup today against St. Louis, who just got shut out last night by Adrian Houser. Nothing against Houser, but he's not nearly the pitcher Burnes is. Burnes should be able to take care of business today.

Luis Castillo  - CIN vs DET ($8,900)

I do have some concern with Castillo, be it that the Reds have lost four of his last five starts. He has pitched far better of late after a slow start to the season, having racked up 15+ DKpts in 15 of his last 15 starts. He gets the nod this afternoon against the Tigers, who strike out quite a bit. Expect Castillo to keep the hard contact to a minimum, strike out some hitters and get the job done.

Other Options: Robbie Ray ($10,100), Elieser Hernandez ($8,000)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Yasmani Grandal - C, CWS @ KC ($5,400)

I'll be looking to stack the White Sox today against Brady Singer. What's better than locking in their hottest hitter at the catcher position. Grandal has a .650 wOBA + ISO against righties this season, as well as a 42.9% hard-contact rate and a 12.48% home run rate.

Jose Abreu - 1B, CWS @ KC ($5,200)

The reigning MVP hasn't been the best this season but has still been productive. His hard contact rate sits at 37.9%, while his home run rate sits at 6.37%. However, he has a solid wOBA + ISO at .554, making him a nice option against Singer today.

Romy Gonzalez - 2B, CWS @ KC ($2,000)

Not much to say here, he hit in the leadoff spot last night and should again today. He'll be in our stack and he's $2K.

Yoan Moncada - 3B, CWS @ KC ($4,700)

The trickiest part of the stack today is Moncada. We're not sure if he'll play today or not, but at the time of writing this, he's slated to be in the lineup. He has a .501 wOBA + ISO against righties this season, along with a 36.5% hard contact rate and a 3.32% home run rate.

Gleyber Torres - SS, NYY vs BAL ($3,300)

Remember Gleyber Torres, the Orioles killer? I do. We hope he can return to that form today against Keegan Akin, who he's 2-4 with a double against. He's been fine against lefties this season, but nothing that jumps off the page. We simply need value if we're going to stack the Sox, so we'll take the value with Torres.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Luis Robert - OF, CWS @ KC ($4,700)

Robert has been seeing the ball well lately, especially against right-handers. He's got a .780 wOBA + ISO against righties over the last thirty days, and on top of that, he's got a 9.1% HR rate against righties in the last month as well.

Rafael Ortega - OF, CHC vs PIT ($3,800)

Ortega should be a nice value piece in the leadoff spot for the Cubs today against Wil Crowe. He's got just one plate appearance against Crowe, in which he worked a walk. Nevertheless, he's got a .617 wOBA + ISO against right-handers this season. He should get the job done today.

Lewis Brinson - OF, MIA vs PHI ($2,300)

Brinson is another solid value piece on today's slate. Matt Moore should be taking the bulk of the work in this game for Philly, and that's a positive for Brinson. He's got a 37.5% hard contact rate and a 7.51% HR rate against southpaws this season. He should hit third or cleanup and should have no problem hitting value.
