FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/7/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/7/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

To some people this is an important day. Not to me. The only thing of importance is the five-game NBA matinee that takes place today. My tilt will be done in time to take my wife out to dinner. It shall be a glorious day, and it has absolutely nothing to do with some NFL game. Give me a round orange ball and I'm happy.

This looks like a rather fun slate. Sure, we still have to deal with Miami running ten deep and the injuries to Paul George, Mike Conley, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown. Trust me. That's part of what makes it fun. No more sneaking away from the dinner table when late news breaks four seconds before lock. Lock is at 1pm eastern. NBA Twitter isn't even awake by then! Ignorance is bliss, but beware. The inverse is also true. Make sure to check right after lunch to make sure our plays are in play still.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/7/21. FanDuel DFS Guards

Bradley Beal, SG – at Charlotte ($10,800)

Friday night was an absolute disaster for the Wizards on every level possible. Even the NBA's leading scorer had an off night, scoring a season-low seven points against a team that he put 32 on two days prior. This is the time to jump right back to Beal. There is no shortage of talent on this slate. I think Beal goes overlooked because of Friday's disaster. Recency bias if very real in DFS, both for good and bad games. I'm not a huge fan of the price still being this high, but Charlotte has been awful guarding the perimeter. Beal and/or Westbrook should have a nice game here.

Donovan Mitchell, SG – at Indiana ($7,800)

The absence of Mike Conley means Mitchell running the point for stretches today. Shaq Harrison is the only other true point guard on the roster, but my exposure will be solely to Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson's price is an absolute gift on FanDuel with Conley out. Mitchell will see an uptick in peripheral stats. If you can't afford Mitchell, Clarkson may wind up being the better play anyway. I still expect Joe Ingles (who is also a nice option) to start alongside Mitchell, but that's better for Clarkson's overall upside. Two of the three Utah guards should smash value today.

Kemba Walker, PG – at Phoenix ($5,700)

Kemba had a nice game on Friday with both Smart and Brown out. That's the situation again today. The Suns are better defensively than you may think, but I expect them to mostly try and shut down Tatum. That will lead to plenty of Walker in this game. Kemba still puts up very good numbers when given the chance. His usage will be way up in this one again. He has a legit shot at 7x value here. I will have a ton of Kemba today.

Also consider: LaMelo Ball ($7,800), Malcolm Brogdon ($7,000), Kendrick Nunn ($5,000)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Kawhi Leonard, SF – vs. Sacramento ($9,900)

Who cares if this is a blowout? If it turns into one, Kawhi will be about the only reason why. Paul George is sidelined again, leaving more of the offense to run through Leonard. In the Clippers last game against the Kings in L.A., Kawhi went for 58.1 FanDuel points. That is probably about the ceiling today, but I wont complain about that with Kawhi still under five figures. If you can't afford both Beal and Leonard, go with Leonard. He has a shot at being the highest scorer on the entire slate.

Gordon Hayward, SF – vs. Washington ($7,600)

The Wizards have one of the worst defenses around right now. I was one of those that wondered just what the hell the Hornets were thinking when they backed a Brinks truck full of cash onto Hayward's lawn. Hayward is paid an absurd amount of money, but he has put up some really good numbers in Charlotte while helping to stabilize a younger team. Who am I to say it wasn't worth it for the Hornets? Hayward has at least 40 FanDuel points in six of the last eight contests. It feels like a lock for him to do it against the Wizards as well. I'll be like the Hornets and spring this kind of cash for him today.

Joe Ingles, SF – at Indiana ($4,500)

Like I said earlier, I expect Ingles to start this game in place of Conley. He is likely the secondary ballhandler when he and Mitchell are on the court together, but that's more activity than in his normal role. Ingles is too cheap for the ceiling today. There are a bunch of cheap mines at forward. I would venture as far as to say that Ingles wont be one of them. It's not often that you find a safe option with good upside in this price range.

Also consider: Jayson Tatum ($10,200), Julius Randle ($9,000), Frank Kaminsky ($4,500)

FanDuel DFS Centers 

Deandre Ayton – vs. Boston ($8,300)

Honestly, this is one of the few nights that I can get on board with paying down at center on FanDuel. It's not a strategy that I normally employ, but the top-tier centers all have holes. Ayton isn't all that consistent with his scoring. He can grab boards with the best of them, but the scoring is hit and miss. My reasoning for leaning towards Ayton is that Boston is going to have trouble handling Ayton. Will that result in a ceiling game? I doubt it, but Ayton isn't priced for one either.

Cody Zeller – vs. Washington ($5,800)

Zeller is one of the most boring players for DFS purposes, but that's a good thing. This is especially true when he's not priced up on either site despite consistently strong games. Washington is still a disaster up front with Thomas Bryant out. They signed Alex Len for crying out loud. They obviously have no plan B behind RoLo, and he's not going to stop Zeller from flirting with 30 FanDuel points again.

Hassan Whiteside – At LAC ($4,000)

Whiteside is still one of the best per-minute guys in the league. The problem is that he doesn't get many minutes most games. However, Richaun Holmes isn't the model of consistency either. Whiteside is capable of putting up a ton of points in limited court time. He is always a risk, but running Whiteside as your center on FanDuel can set you apart in GPP formats. He's capable of 10x value at this price. He's also capable of 3x.

Also consider: Rudy Gobert ($8,500), Alex Len ($5,500), Mitchell Robinson ($5,200)
