The regular NFL gambler is not the primary audience for Super Bowl LV Exotic Bets. As the name implies, "exotic" is not something of the norm or regular. However, what makes exotics so fascinating is that they are attractive to both the casual gambler as well as the regular degenerate gambler.

Sure, I will be placing my fair share of bets of whom who will win and by how many points. And it should be little surprise that I will have plenty invested in the outcome of specific players as well. But one thing about the Super Bowl is that it is an event like no other. The game itself (unfortunately in my humble opinion), sometimes comes secondary to all that surrounds it.

But exotics are a chance to bet not only on what happens within the game but on all that happens around the game. The most well-known exotic might be the opening coin-flip. Exotic Prop 1: Gatorade Color

I always like making this bet because it often occurs at the most boring part of the game--the "kneel down" or victory formation. Depending on where you bet, you might find different odds, better or worse. But we will be using oddshark as our reference point and here is what they list as the options:

There is certainly temptation to grab the "favored" here as Kansas City features red in their colors and are also the team favored to win. However, the most popular/common red is the fruit punch flavor which often stains your lips and teeth. That might look cool on the field, but no so much for post-game interviews. So throw that one out.

We can also eliminate the +1300 for purple. That's a sucker bet. When was the last time you saw purple Gatorade on an NFL sideline? Blue is a little more common and was ranked second overall by this just4foodies article. But what foodies like and what is commonly found on NFL sidelines are not one and the same.

What color does that look to you? It actually looks both orange and yellow to me. If I was actually going to bet on this, I would take both orange and yellow, and hope for the higher payout.

Exotic Prop 2: Renegade Fan

Will A Fan Run Onto The Field During The Game?

You have to put up $160 just to win $10, but if you got access to this bet and the funds to do so, I would. I know, we've all seen various footage from games over the years with fans running onto the field. But for starters, security is always increased during the SuperBowl, especially since 9/11. Two, there will be far less fans at the Super Bowl this year than usual. Three, we know that most of the fans are going to be "first responders".

Maybe I'm stereotyping, but not a single first responder I've ever met has struck me as someone who would want to cause chaos and a disturbance. Throw in the pandemic concerns, one that they are all highly aware of, and I just don't see it happening. There is a higher probability of someone parachuting into the Super Bowl, than there is a fan running onto the field.

Exotic Prop 3: Fighting

Of course, you don't need fans to simply cause a little disruption, so there's this one:

This one is kind of interesting as we know that Mike Evans, for example, can run a little hot. Do you recall there being more than phone numbers exchanged during the Saints/Buc playoffs game? Still, this is easy money. It's the big game, no one wants to get thrown out no matter what. I just don't see it happening.

But the last couple of bets I mentioned are those that require you to put up a whole lot more than you will win. Let's look at something a little closer to even money.

Exotic Prop 4: Coin Toss

What Will the Chiefs Call for the Coin Toss?

I actually like this bet far more than the common "what will the result of the coin flip be?".

Despite the myths otherwise, the coin-flip is a 50/50 chance. Since the books never offer even odds, it's just not worth it. However, I do like the odds on Chiefs calling "tails" as "tails never fails". The flip side of course is that you "Play 'heads-up'". However, the fact is that five of the last seven coin flips have been tails. My guess is that the Chiefs know that and call "tails" for the coin flip.

The above is a bet that everyone in the room can bet on because it's so simple. But it's far from the most popular one in my household. My wife for example always asks about this next one.

Exotic Prop 5: The "Wife" Bet

Some people are always gonna hate on the "beautiful people".

But the point is attractive people make for good TV, so the odds of us not seeing Giselle is pretty low. I'm not sure why, but as I said my wife always asks about this bet, so I felt I had to include it here.

Exotic Prop 6: The National Anthem Bet

This is the exotic prop bet I am most likely to make.

With the Over at sitting at even money, it's very tempting. However, I will be grabbing the UNDER. Why?

First off, we have evidence to support doing so. Before a 2016 NHL game, Co-singer Jazmine Sullivan belted out the national anthem in a tidy 1 minute 38 seconds. Furthermore, co-singer Eric Church had previously vowed to never sing the National Anthem due to the vocal challenges it presents. Something tells me he's not really interested in holding out notes. Furthermore, the last three national anthems have come in at 1:53 or under. Take the Under and enjoy your newfound winnings.
