Major League Baseball and the Players Association announced on Thursday that the 2020 playoffs will expand to 16 teams, beginning with eight best-of-three wild-card series preceding the Division Series. The higher seeds in the wild-card series will host all three games, which will be scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 2. The entire 2020 postseason will be announced in the weeks ahead. It's unclear if this expanded playoff format will be just for the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season or if it will be adopted beyond this year. But one thing is for sure: The new format this year should make the division and wild-card races that much more interesting in a 60-game season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
