KBO DFS Lineup Picks for 5/28/20 - DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball

John Gresen's KBO DFS lineup picks for contests on FanDuel and DraftKings on 5/28/20. Daily fantasy baseball analysis for pitchers, hitters and DFS stacks.

Welcome back, Rotoballers, to another KBO DFS pick column with yours truly! If you haven't been following me on Twitter @efhatch1990dfs, then you should start! I have been covering KBO since day one, and have been creating my own personal sheets to help people win money. I am going to include some of that data here in my RotoBaller column, too.

New to KBO? Don't worry, we got you covered! DraftKings and FanDuel will use the same scoring system that they do for MLB, however, the roster builds are much different on FanDuel. You must roster two infielders, two outfielders, and two utility players along with a pitcher for a total of only seven players on FanDuel.  DraftKings has kept its normal MLB structure with two starting pitchers and an entire eight-hitter lineup for a total of ten players. Building lineups on each site is going to be a good bit different on most nights.

Today, I'll be providing my KBO DFS lineup picks and analysis for this five-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 5:30 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2020. You can check our daily KBO Betting Picks as well. Make sure you are also following me @efhatch1990dfs on Twitter, and good luck RotoBallers!

KBO DFS Pitchers

2020 Pitchers Stats

I’ll start by saying there are a lot of question marks regarding some of the lower salary pitchers and that is causing me to want to just spend up for the quality arms for this slate, There are three pitchers making there KBO season debut tomorrow morning. Adrian Sampson is on about a 50 pitch limit from what I’ve read, while Dae Hyun Jung for SAM is making his career debut so we know nothing beside he’s an 18-year-old getting thrown on the mound in the best hitters park in the league. Then we have Dae Hyun Jung for KIW who hasn’t pitched in the KBO since 2017. Geon Wook Lee for SK is also making his first start of the season after 3 ⅓ innings pitched as a reliever, he’s making the start for injured Nick Kingham. That being said let’s get into it!

Yang Hyun Jong ($9.6K Draftkings, $29 FanDuel) - KIA (-150 favorite)

These are the season totals for the line up that I project to start (make sure you stay up for line ups or set an alarm!)

Against Yang Hyun Jong for the Wiz, this team is very good but they have been striking out at a 21.9% clip against lefties this year and only 7.3% walk rate. They aren’t hitting for power with just two HRs and five doubles. They have been making contact with a .313 batting average, Yang should be fine having a 76% LOB this season and KT not hitting with much power against lefties if batters get on base, he should be able to mitigate any damage. His 3.43 ERA is a bit inflated from his first start against KIW, only going three innings giving up four earned runs in just 4 hits, after that he’s gone 6 innings in all 3 and only giving up four earned runs. I like him for cash.

Warwick Saupold ($9K Draftkings, $26 FanDuel)- HAN (+115)

Mr innings-eater himself is on the mound tomorrow averaging seven innings per game and over 100 pitches in all four starts. He is a QS machine getting one every start this season making him a great play on Fanduel, add the fact he got a QS in 20 out of 31 games last year dudes a beast at mitigating damage and being able to stay out on the mound, he’s not a strikeout pitcher by any means but he’ll get you two to five strikeouts per game and is averaging 18.7 DK points per game I like him as a cash option more so on Fanduel. I like him for GPP on DK if he is lower owned being the underdog.

Casey Kelly ($7.4K Draftkings, $23 FanDuel)- LG (-165)

Kelly will be the pitcher I pair with Yang for my cash lines on DK and FD at just $23. Take out his horrendous first start against NC Dinos he has gone 6 innings his last two starts, in under 87 pitches, making me think against a terrible HAN offense hell get the QS and the win if LG can put up a few runs in what should be a low scoring pitchers duel, as this game currently sits at 8 run O/U and money on the under, also why I like both pitchers in this game. In those last 2 starts he game up 4 earned runs in one game and none in the other against quality offenses in KT and Kiwoom respectively. Don’t overthink him in cash as he’s the cheapest option I’d even consider in cash games and unless your MMEing in general.

Other options:

Yong Chan Lee (DOO) Cash

Young Gyu Kim (NCD) GPP

KBO Top Hitter Stacks

Doosan Bears-

Do I even need to go through this with y'all? The Bears come in with the highest over-under at 12 runs and are -220 favorites, they are at home and we saw that night what that can do to them being the most pitcher-friendly park in the league, but they are going up against a reliever getting the start that has a saying this will be a bullpen game, and SK bullpen is not good. I like this for a full-stack instead of one-offs or mini stacks due to the ballpark.

Main Targets:

Jose Fernandez, Jae Hwan Kim, Joo Hwan Choi

Runner ups:

Everyone else who makes the lineup tonight.

NC Dinos

The team with the best record and is rolling is facing a pitcher who hasn’t pitched in KBO game since 2017 and gave up 13 bombs in 66 ⅓ innings in that year. With a career ERA of 6.63 and having a 1.78 WHIP, I can see the Dinos sending him to the dugout rather quick tonight after a few base runners and a HR or two, and we know they can score in bunches. This will be my other cash stack with DOO,

Main Targets:

Eui Ji Yang, Sung Bum Na (.391 average with 5 RBIs and 2 HRs against lefties), Suk Min Park, and Altherr on FD for $10

Kiwoom Heroes

On the other side of this, I like KIW for GPPS against a HR-prone pitcher in Young Gyu Kim, giving up 3.38 HR/9 this season and he is another young inexperienced pitcher we can target. I will be looking for the power bats seeing that he actually has a 94% LOB average. I like that he’s given up multiple home runs in two out of three games so we can mini stack the power.

Main Targets:

ByungHo Park, Dong Won Park, and Ha Seong Kim

I also like KIA against another young pitcher.

Good luck in your DFS contests everyone. Be sure to stop back every day for some more KBO DFS analysis here at RotoBaller!
