FanDuel, DraftKings CFB DFS Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football Advice for 8/30/19

After a fun Thursday night of college football, we'll jump right into another mini slate as we get ready for Saturday.

There are seven games on the slate and more than enough options at every position. There also isn't a game with a huge over/under, so ownership won't all be stacked in one place. Let's dive in and find that edge!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 8/30/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @VarneyDFS.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks

Jordan Love, UTST (FD $9,900 - DK $7,600)

The usual college football slate brings us plenty of quarterback options. Tonight, not so much. There is no game with a 70+ over/under and all but a few games will be competitive. Jordan Love was one of the best Mountain West QB’s in 2018, throwing for 3,567 yards and 32 touchdowns. Utah State will start this season off with a tough game against Wake Forest. WF is favored by just three points with a 61 O/U. Wake Forest gave up the 10th most passing yards in 2018 (270 YPG) and the 17th most passing touchdowns. Love is working with a ton of new weapons, but he should have no issue throwing for 300 yards on this secondary. If you’re looking to pay up for a quarterback, Jordan Love is your guy by default.

Collin Hill, CSU (FD $7,600 - DK $4,700)

Hill started four games for the Rams in 2018 and played phenomenal down the stretch. In four games of action, Hill threw for 280+ yards in three of them. He’s a also a minor threat on the ground, which adds a ton of value. The Rams are expected to be playing from behind and it’ll force Hill to throw the ball 30-40 times. Colorado State is a middle of the road defense and it remains to be seen how a few key losses will hurt. Collin Hill is far too cheap for the skill talent and opportunity possessed.

Also Consider: Jamie Newman, Jake Luton

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Running Backs

Chuba Hubbard, OKST (FD $9,700 - DK $8,100)

You can pay up for the best running back in college football in Jonathan Taylor, but I don’t think it’ll be necessary. Hubbard is nowhere near as safe as Taylor, but his upside is huge in the highest O/U game of the slate. Hubbard surpassed 30 fantasy points in three of his last four 2018 games, combining for six touchdowns and nearly 700 all-purpose yards. Oklahoma State is favored to control this game and it’s a fair expectation for Hubbard to see 25 touches. He’s my favorite spend-up on the slate.

Alex Fontenot, CO (FD $8,300 - DK $4,900)

This is a pretty simple play. He’s either priced wrong on FanDuel or someone clicked the wrong button. Fontenot earned the starting job in this offense and will be a great compliment to Steven Montez with his speed and athleticism. The Buffaloes are expected to hold a lead this game and Fontenot should see plenty of tough carries. He’s simply too cheap on DraftKings and not a guy I’ve been able to escape over there. The Buffaloes are sizable favorites and Fontenot should get more than enough run to pay off $4,900.

Also Consider: Connor Hayward, Raheem Blackshear, Zander Horvath

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers

Tylan Wallace, OKST (FD $10,100 - DK $8,800)

The Oklahoma State Cowboys hold the highest projected total on the slate at over 40 points. We can’t play the quarterback as both Spencer Sanders and Dru Brown will get play. Tylan Wallace is the main target for both of them and we could easily see 15+ targets. Wallace caught 86 balls in ‘18 for 1,491 yards and 12 touchdowns. We could see him play even better this season, assuming the Cowboys can find a reliable QB. With two dominant options, it’s safe to assume one of these guys will be able to sling the rock in game action. Tylan Wallace will be leaned on by both of these youngsters

Sage Surratt, WF (FD $8,700 - DK $6,500)

Jamie Newman will be one of the more popular quarterback plays on this slate, and rightfully so. Wake Forest is expected to put up nearly 30 points and the passing game should be a big reason why. Sage Surratt is the clear number one option and he isn't priced like it. He played in just eight games last season, and caught 35 balls for 505 yards. Utah State was an average defense last season, allowing 67.7 YPG to the WR1. That ranked 80th in the nation. If you're passing on Jamie Newman tonight, Sage Surratt is a great way to get exposure to this offense.

Tyjon Lindsey, ORST (FD $6,400 - DK $4,800)

You can play Isaiah Hodgins, but we'll need to save some money at wide receiver somewhere. This game holds the highest total on the slate, and it may not be a bad idea to get exposure to the opposite side of the ball. Oregon State doesn't have the firepower of the OK State Cowboys, but they can still put up points. WR2 Trevon Bradford will miss this game, giving Tyjon Lindsey every opportunity to step up. This is a game you'll certainly want exposure to and this Oregon State offense will likely go overlooked.

Also Consider: Isaiah Hodgins, Warren Jackson, Randall St. Felix, Jordan Nathan
