FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Kenta Maeda: P, LAD vs. SD ($6,700)

Maeda’s price is way too low on FanDuel. This stud righty is pitching to a 3.78 ERA and 1.10 WHIP, which is pretty much on par with his career averages. That pairs beautifully with his 3.70 career xFIP and 26 percent K rate. That means he should be about $9,000 in a matchup like this, as we’re looking at a $$2,300 discount. Facing San Diego is nothing we need to worry about either, with the Padres ranking 27th in K rate, 25th in OBP and 24th in wOBA. The fact that the only potent bats in the Padres order are righties only adds to Maeda’s intrigue, entering this game as a –165 favorite.

Miles Mikolas: P, STL at SF ($6,600)

Mikolas hasn't given us a whole lot of reason to use him this season but this price is pretty tempting. This is still a guy who has a 3.35 ERA and 1.13 WHIP dating back to the start of last season, which is incredible production from someone priced so cheaply. The icing on the cake here is this matchup though, with the Giants ranking bottom-three in runs scored, OPS and xwOBA. Not to mention, pitching in Oracle Park is likely the most pitching-friendly environment in the Majors, which is huge for a contact-pitcher like Mikolas in a game with a total of 8.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Matt Adams: 1B, WSH vs. KC ($3,000)

Adams is quietly one of the hottest hitters in the league right now and he’s truly established himself as the everyday first baseman for the Nationals. Over his last 14 starts, Adams has seven homers and 17 RBI en route to a .696 SLG. That’s obviously absurd power and it’s just a matter of time before his average catches up to that power. What we like today is that he gets to face Glenn Sparkman, who’s allowed 13 combined runs over his last two games and now has an ERA north of 5.00 for the season. That also puts the platoon advantage in Adams favor, as he’s got an OPS approaching .850 for his career against right-handed pitching.

Jason Kipnis: 2B, CLE at CIN ($3,000)

We have to use some Indians lefties against Anthony DeSclafani. The Reds righty has had a nightmare season against lefty bats this season, allowing them to generate a .380 OBP and .588 SLG against him. That squarely puts all of the Indians bats in play, especially a guy as hot as Kipnis. Over his last 17 games, Kipnis is providing a .375 OBP and .946 OPS. That’s the stud bat that used to be a perennial all-star candidate and we have to like him in a matchup like this at this sort of price.

Renato Nunez: 3B, BAL at TOR ($3,300)

The Orioles are actually my favorite cheap stack on the board because they get to face Clayton Richard. The Blue Jays lefty is currently pitching to a 6.51 ERA and 1.63 WHIP this season and has been even worse against righties. Nunez is quite the lefty masher himself, accruing a .275 AVG, .578 SLG and .908 OPS against southpaws so far this season. His power stroke is in full swing right now too, collecting four doubles, three homers and eight RBI over his last eight games en route to a .455 OBP and 1.269 OPS.

Trevor Story: SS, COL at ARI ($4,000)

As a Rockies fan, I can tell you that Story obliterates left-handers. In fact, the Rockies shortstop has a career OPS north of 1.000 with the platoon advantage in his favor and has been a raving success in Arizona. For his career, Story is posting a .609 SLG and .945 OPS at Chase Field. That becomes very enticing against a struggling pitcher like Robbie Ray, who’s pitching to a 5.31 ERA over his last six starts while generating a 1,35 WHIP for the year.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Khris Davis: OF, OAK at SEA ($3,400)

Davis remains way too cheap on FanDuel and it’s hard to understand why they continue to disrespect him. We’re talking about a guy who leads the league in home runs since 2016 while providing an ISO approaching .300 in that span. That’s simply elite power and his 16 home runs this season indicates that he’s not far away from another 40-homer season. What makes him an intriguing option here is his matchup with Marco Gonzalez. Not only is Davis posting a .939 OPS against lefties so far this season, but the Mariners southpaw is also currently pitching to a 4.39 ERA and 1.40 WHIP.

Mallex Smith: OF, SEA vs. OAK ($2,900)

Smith is another guy who’s way too cheap, as he’s been doing some serious damage since being moved to the leadoff spot. Over his last 36 games, Smith is generating a .290 AVG and .353 OBP. That’s impressive in itself from any leadoff hitter but Smith is also providing a .805 OPS in that span. That’s a huge number from a speed-demon, as Smith has 25 runs scored, 17 RBI, 17 extra-base hits and 15 steals in that span. That’s brilliant production from a $2,900 player, especially considering he faces a guy who’s posting a 5.31 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over his last eight starts.
