Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (4/24/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Yahoo DFS advice and daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 4/24/17 by Justin Klein. MLB DFS player recommendations for your Yahoo daily tournaments and GPPs.

Happy  Monday morning, or whenever you happen to be reading this. In any case there are zero afternoon games and nine evening games for a total of nine games on the slate. Math is fun. I'm going to focus on the evening games that are connected to the large guaranteed prize pools.  Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 4/24/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Consider on Yahoo

The Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies are facing off at Coors Field in Colorado and I want to make a combo stack of both teams. With RHP Joe Ross going for the Nationals and LHP Tyler Anderson toeing the rubber for the Rockies I want all of the RHH on Washington and all of the LHH that I can get from Colorado. If I can use some hitters from each team I can better afford to plug some value plays around them to go with my solid pitching plays for Monday night.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Chris Archer at BAL ($52)

Archer has been a force thus far this season as he's notched an impressive 1.71 FIP to go with a K/9 of 9.59. I expect those numbers to continue despite facing a tough Orioles lineup. Even if Chris does get dinged a bit he should still manage to pile up the K's and it's always good to fall back on a bed of strikeouts.

Amir Garrett at MIL ($44)

Now that I'm finally jumping on the Garrett bandwagon in DFS I'm sure that he'll get shelled, as he's facing a red hot lineup in an extremely hitter friendly park. That said the Brewers have the propensity to strikeout, and that number goes up against southpaws. On the season Amir has amassed a 2.03 FIP and a 9.61 K/9. Those numbers are similar to Archer and he's a similar play today in the fake game; albeit one with much more risk attached on account of a lack of history of success.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C) - Jonathan Lucroy vs MIN ($8)

While I normally reserve Lucroy for when he's facing a LHP I just can't pass him up at eight bucks against Phil Hughes at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Not only is the price right, but it's a good matchup in a great park for hitters. There's a chance the Rangers could go with the red hot Chirinos behind the dish and if that's the case I'll be sure to tweet out a pivot play.

First Base (1B) -  CJ Cron vs TOR ($7)

Cron has been cold of late, but with all of the money that was spent on pitching and a few big bats I'm going to have to pinch pennies somewhere and this seems like a good spot to do it. CJ and the Angels will face Francisco Liriano on Monday night and hopefully he implodes again and the Angels can take advantage and pile it on.

Second Base (2B) - Brian Dozier at TEX ($18)

Brian Dozier and the Twinkies get to face off with LHP Martin Perez and the Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington on Monday and this matchup has me chomping at the bit. This is exactly why you play a CJ Cron for the minimum. So you can start good pitching and also roster a few expensive bats with tremendous ceilings and high floors to go with them. In his career Dozier has mashed LHP to the tune of a .237 ISO with a 128 wRC+. Yes, please!

Third Base (3B) - Todd Frazier - vs KC ($10)

This play is a bit of a no-brainer as he have Todd Frazier against LHP Jason Vargas. Even though Vargas has been crazy good to start the year and Frazier has spent more time battling the flu than hitting baseballs this one still stands out to me as a must play. That's because Todd has destroyed LHP  in his career as he's posted a .352 wOBA and an ISO of .248 against them. Those are enormous numbers that can't be ignored for the low price of 10 dollars.

Shortstop (SS) -  Trea Turner at COL ($20)

Finally there is a quality right handed bat for the Nationals that I get to stick into my lineup. Turner is in for a solid matchup against LHP Tyler Anderson as he's hit .311 against them in his career. I can only imagine that number will go up at Coors Field and when Anderson gets knocked out of the game Turner will probably get to feast on a RHP as well. On a night when the Nationals are primed to score a lot of runs I like using their lead off hitter quite a bit.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Charlie Blackmon vs WSH ($21) - Blackmon is a terrific play today against Joe Ross and the Nationals at home at the hitter's paradise known as Coors Field. Not only is Charlie tremendous at home, but Joe Ross has struggled in his career against LHH. In over 82 IP against LHH Ross has allowed them to post a triple slash of .297/.371/.450 with a wOBA of .355. That's an All Star folks. The average LHH is an All Star against Joe Ross. That is why I want to use actual All Stars like Blackmon against him at Coors Field and will pay just about any price to do so. I suggest you join and me and get Charlie and the Colorado fantasy factory into your lineups.

Shin-soo Choo vs MIN ($11) -

Choo has a tasty matchup with Phil Hughes on tap on Monday evening as Hughes and the Twins roll into Arlington to face Choo and the Rangers. Not only is Globe Life Park one of the best parks in play on the night, but Hughes has had a hard time against LHH on the road as evidenced by his 4.43 xFIP allowed. At just 11 bucks Choo is one of my favorite value plays going Monday night.
