MLB Hitter Cheat Sheet (6/4/16): Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Picks

JB's MLB DFS hitters for 6/4/16- daily fantasy baseball cheat sheet and lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings GPPs and cash games

Welcome to the weekend, RotoBallers. Today we have a beautiful full slate of 15 games to enjoy, spread out through the afternoon. This consists of nine early afternoon games (beginning at 2:20 ET), and six evening games starting at 7:15 ET. Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers (-400!!) are today's biggest favorites over the Braves. The BOS-TOR game owns the highest projected run total, with NYY-BAL and SEA-TEX closely behind. For fantasy stacking purposes however, I prefer the latter two match-ups. There is a ton of potential weather concerns on the radars currently, with six outdoor games showing a chance for rain and/or thunderstorms. Be extra vigilant with your lineups today.

In the article below, I present you with value hitters at each position, on both FanDuel and DraftKings. These players are not projected for the highest point totals today, but rather give you the most potential bang for your buck relative to their costs. Finding value in the lower dollar tiers is always important to building a winning lineup in DFS, but especially on a day that boasts numerous top dollar pitchers such as Clayton Kershaw, Chris Sale, and Stephen Strasburg,

That is the purpose of this article -- to provide you with the best value hitters available each day.

Today I'll be bringing you 14 value hitters for MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball on FanDuel and DraftKings for June 4th, 2016. Let's get rowdy.

DFS Hitters - Lineup Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings

David Ross, CHC (C)

FanDuel: $2,400

Ross is rocking an incredible .409/.533/.727 slash with two HR against LHP this season. Three of his four HR have been hit at Home, and today he's facing Edwin Escobar, who looked terrible in his first start last week. Miguel Montero is only 1-12 versus lefties in 2016, so look for Ross to get another start behind the plate.

Yadier Molina, STL (C)

DraftKings: $2,400

This is a very reasonable price considering Yadi is hitting .500 in 22 career PA against Jeff Samardzija. The Shark is coming off an ugly outing where he gave up five runs (four earned) in five innings against the lowly Braves.

Dae-Ho Lee, SEA (1B)

FanDuel: $2,800

Lee has been hot over the last week. He has only started three games, but has hit .526 with two HR and seven RBI. He's belted four HR and 12 RBI against southpaws this season, and today the Mariners square off against Martin Perez (4.95 SIERA) in one of the highest projected scoring games.

Matt Adams, STL (1B)

DraftKings: $2,900

Picking on The Shark again here, Matt Adams is 4-7 with two doubles lifetime against the previous Cardinals rival. His playing time has really picked up of late, and he is certainly making the most of it. Over the past two weeks, Adams is hitting an even .400 with three HR, seven runs, and nine RBI. Five of his six HR in 2016 have come off RHP.

Javier Baez, CHC (2B)

FanDuel: $2,500

Baez has hit three HR and swiped three bases during his limited time as a utility-man for Joe Maddon this season. Like Ross, he has also dominated southpaws, going 9-20 (.450 BA). As for his competition today, Edwin Escobar was just rocked for eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits in only 3.1 innings against the Astros.

Jurickson Profar, TEX (2B)

DraftKings: $3,100

This pick hinges on two unlikely outcomes from decisions the Rangers will make this morning. First, with Rougned Odor returning from his suspension, will they keep the hot hitting Profar with the club or option him back down for more consistent playing time? Secondly, if they do somehow find a way to keep him up, will he even draw the start at shortstop/designated hitter? Well, at this point in time, I don't have an answer. Anyway, if Profar is in fact in today's lineup, the switch hitter is a steal on DraftKings. In six games since being called up, he is hitting .364 with two HR, and has scored nine runs. Once again, this is a long shot.

Travis Shaw, BOS (3B)

FanDuel: $3,100

Owning a vital piece of the number one scoring offense in the league for only $3,100? Thank ya very kindly, FanDuel. Against RHP this season, Shaw has raked to a tune of .317/.380/.539 with 23 XBH and 29 RBI. Versus Marcus Stroman in his short career, he is 3-7 with a HR and a double. As stated above, this game owns today's highest projected run total.

Yunel Escobar, LAA (3B)

DraftKings: $3,200

Returning to the lineup after a short absence, due to a wrist injury, Escobar finished 2-6 with a R and two RBI yesterday against Francisco Liriano from the leadoff position. With Jeff Locke on the mound today for the Pirates, Escobar should be back atop of the Angels batting order, looking to continue his career success against LHP.

Wilmer Flores (SS)

FanDuel: $2,100

With David Wright on the shelf for the foreseeable future, Flores could get a shot at manning the hot corner for the Mets. Today he faces Justin Nicolino, whose fastball tops out at 88 MPH, and has racked up 16 whole strikeouts in 40 innings this season.

Marcus Semien, OAK (SS)

DraftKings: $3,000

Semien is 5-9 with two doubles lifetime against Collin McHugh and has already accrued 10 long balls this season. McHugh has pitched well his past three starts, but gave up two HR in his last start and is far from unhittable.

Avisail Garcia, CWS (OF)

FanDuel: $2,500

Another White Sox player you can roster against Mike Pelfrey for cheap today, Garcia is 6-15 lifetime versus the Tigers starter. He has enjoyed decent success against RHP this season (.258 BA, 10 XBH), and did I mention Mike Pelfrey owns a 6.08 ERA while allowing a .422 wOBA when pitching at Home in 2016?

Robbie Grossman, MIN (OF)

DraftKings: $2,800

Through 14 games after his call-up, Grossman has been a pleasant surprise for the Twins. He is slashing .348/.455/.609 with eight XBH, nine runs, and nine RBI, and has hit sixth or higher in the lineup in all but one game.

Juan Lagares, NYM (OF)

FanDuel: $2,600

With the Mets facing a soutpaw today, it is fairly safe to assume the slumping Michael Conforto will be riding the pine, and Juan Lagares should be drawing the start. Against LHP this season, Lagares is hitting .326 and will more than likely be making contact in each at bat today. (See Nicolino's strikeout ratios)

Michael Bourn, ARI (OF)

DraftKings: $2,500

Since being acquired by the Diamondbacks in mid-May, Bourn is hitting .304 with an impressive .396 OBP. He has zero power left in the tank, but is able to produce fantasy points with his legs from the two hole in front of Paul Goldschmidt. Surprisingly, he has also hit much better away from Chase Field, sporting a .429 BA on the road. His opponent today, Jason Hammel, owns a sexy 2.09 ERA but his 4.25 SIERA suggests that the sexiness will not last forever.
