DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/8/16): MLB DFS Advice

Sunday is a busy day throughout the MLB season, and today is no different. With every team in action, there will be plenty of options for lineups on DraftKings.

Some strong pitchers will be in action today with good matchups. Of course, if you want to save some money, there will be some value options available. However, daily fantasy baseball is dependent on have two good pitchers, so choose carefully.

As for the guys that will be hitting the ball, several favorable matchups jump out. Teams like Baltimore, San Francisco, and Boston make for some good plays today.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/8/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Baltimore Orioles vs. Kendall Graveman (RHP)

Hitters have had a relatively easy time getting runs off of Kendall Graveman this year. He's 1-3 with a 4.30 ERA and have given up 10 runs in his last two starts. With 14 earned runs in 28.2 innings pitched, Graveman has clearly struggled. The Orioles, on the other hand, have been one of the best hitting teams in the league, particularly when it comes to home runs. Look for Chris Davis, a left-hander, to have a big day. Manny Machado and Mark Trumbo have both been stroking the ball and need to be considered for a stack today.

San Francisco Giants  vs. Eddie Butler (RHP)

Butler was roughed up by Pittsburgh in his only start of the season on May 3, giving up fiver earned runs in just 5.2 innings of work. Things won't be easier today, as he will go up against a tough Giants lineup. The Giants have limited at-bats against Butler, but Brandon Belt, Matt Duffy, and Joe Panik have all had success off the right-hander.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jeff Samardzija, SF vs. COL - $9,400

This one could seem like a bit of a stretch considering how well Colorado has hit the ball this season. However, Samardzija has been strong recently and is 2-0 at home. His ownership number could be lower than normal, something that will only add to his value today. He last faced the Rockies on April 12 and held them to just two runs while picking up a win at Coors Field.

Jose Quintana, CHW vs. MIN - $10,600

It seems like the Twins are regulars on the list of favorable matchups for opposing pitchers. Jose Quintana faces the struggling Minnesota lineup today. Like most of Chicago's pitching staff, the 27-year-old is enjoying a fantastic season and has a low 1.40 ERA. Consider Quintana a top pitching choice for your DraftKings lineup today.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Salvador Perez, KC at CLE- $3,600

Perez is in the middle of a solid season and today he'll get to go up against Josh Tomlin, someone he's hit very well in the past. With a .643 average, a home run, and five RBI against the the righty, Perez makes for a nice sleeper candidate at catcher today.

First Base (1B)

Brandon Belt, SF vs. COL - $4,500

So far, 2016 seems to be the best season of Brandon Belt's young career. He's seeing the ball great and providing the Giants with production in the form of home runs, RBI and runs. He has faced tonight's starter, Eddie Butler, just four times in his career, but has two hits, including a double, and an RBI. It's hard to go wrong with Belt right now.

Second Base (2B)

Logan Forsyth, at LAA - $3,600

Forsyth is enjoying a breakout season thus far and has been a big producer as Tampa's leadoff hitter. He's currently one of the offensive leaders on the team and has been very useful to those who have plugged him into DFS lineups lately. His price is still low enough for him to be considered a high value pick.

Shortstop (SS)

Xander Bogaerts, BOS at NYY - $4,000

Bogaerts has been a strong DFS play recently and that will continue today. He's been hitting for average and stealing bases, something that can help him provide added value for fantasy owners. New York's starter, Luis Severino, has struggled to a 0-4 record with an ERA of 6.31. Take Bogaerts as a strong play at shortstop in primetime.

Third Base (3B)

Manny Machado, BAL vs. OAK - $5,100

Machado has continued his hot play this season and is a big reason why the Orioles have one of the top offenses in all of Major League Baseball. He's hitting over .300 and has also shown his power to go long. Machado is playing great right now and needs to be in your lineup today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Hunter Pence, SF vs. COL - $4,900

Pence gets a favorable matchup today and has hit well to this point this season. He pretty much can do it all for your fantasy lineup, though he's not stealing bases like he used to. That aside, he's still a solid play almost every day in daily fantasy lineups. He hits in the middle of a potent San Francisco lineup and gets good opportunities to produce.

Odubel Herrera, PHI at MIA - $3,300

Herrera recently had an 11-game hit streak end, but he's been hitting the ball well all season. His average is well over .300 and he has quickly developed into a very good and effective leadoff hitter for the Phillies. Take him today for a cheap price and expect some good production.

Ian Desmond, TEX at DET- $3,400

Desmond's .239 batting average will leave a lot to be desired, but he's still been a decent play this season on DraftKings. He only had one hit Saturday, but his two doubles on Friday night netted 10 fantasy points. His salary is a great price for someone who hits in the middle of a lineup. Desmond is easily overlooked on days with a lot of games, and that's a good thing for you if you put him into your lineup.
