How about that Monday night? After a monster (three game) slate on National Championship night, it’s safe to say that we’re all ready to get back down to the business of having multiple games on tap. With eight games on the schedule, there is plenty of opportunity to get back into playing in those safe games.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 1/12/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Brandon Knight (at PHO, $7,300)

This isn’t exactly the plus matchup fantasy owners would like to exploit, but it’s a little too hard to ignore the sheer floor usage rate of Knight. From an advanced metrics standpoint, Knight is a little more than above average. But we’re here to evaluate him on a fantasy level. Over the last four games, the former Kentucky Wildcat has taken 81 shots and dished out 25 assists in over 38 minutes per. With numbers like that, I don’t care if Knight is analytically ranked as the worst player in The Association.

Mario Chalmers (vs HOU, $5,900)

As long as starter Mike Conley remains sidelined in a boot, Chalmers deserves a look in cash game lineups. As of this writing, Conley is listed as questionable and all reports point to him sitting yet again on Tuesday. Chalmers struggled initially when he was thrusted into the starter’s role, but now he looks comfortable and is really putting up some staggering fantasy numbers on a per dollar basis. He should have no problem attacking a Houston backcourt that is giving up their fair share of fantasy points to opposing point guards.

 

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Tyreke Evans (at LAL, $8,100)

In 18 games played this season, Evans has played at least 30 minutes in all but three- all blowout losses to Boston, Phoenix and Orlando, respectively. Something tells me the Lakers will not be blowing out the Pelicans on Tuesday, which means Evans should easily push solid playing time yet again. Evans has dropped at least 38.3 DraftKings points in five of his last six outings. A banged up Lakers backcourt awaits Reke Havoc.

Monta Ellis (vs PHO, $6,300)

I also like Andrew Wiggins (vs. OKC) and Lou Williams (vs. NO) in this spot at somewhat similar prices. For just a hair more cap relief, Ellis against the Devin Booker and the Suns makes a whole lot of sense. The Mississippi Bullet is playing with a lot more consistency compared to the start of the season. Over his last three, Ellis has shot nearly 46% from the field while piling up over nine dimes per outing. He will be matched up against Booker, a rookie that yields a D-Rating of 110 and is seemingly making a point to give up at least two highlights per game to opposing two guards.

 

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Carmelo Anthony (vs BOS, $8,500)

So it appears Carmelo Anthony has decided to unleash his inner point guard this season. In his last outing, Melo passed out eight assists to go along with his 10 boards and 24 points. You’d have to go back all the way to December 18 to find a game in which Melo didn’t drop at least 30 DraftKings points. He will be matched up against Jae Crowder, who is a plus defender, but Boston has given up the 14th most points to the swing so there is some wiggle room to work with.

Trevor Ariza (at MEM, $5,200)

The Memphis Grizzlies are no longer a scary team. They rank in the middle of the pack in defensive efficiency, opponent field goal percentage, and are allowing the third most three point attempts per game. On the other side of the ball, Ariza is starting to heat up as he has gone 12-for-24 from behind the arc over the last ten games. With Matt Barnes mostly playing the four while on the floor, Ariza will be checked by Jeff Green and his 107 D-Rating. The time is ripe to invest in Ariza.

 

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Zach Randolph (vs HOU, $6,500)

Here comes Z-Bo! Dude has been as dominant on the floor over the last few games as the bully he is so aptly nicknamed for. Injuries in front of Randolph to Conley, Courtney Lee and (somewhat) Barnes have meant more playing time for Z-bo. And he has not disappointed. Randolph is really becoming comfortable off the bench and should have no problems destroying a weak Houston frontcourt.

Ryan Anderson (at LAL, $6,500)

With all the minor injuries that Anthony Davis has suffered from this season, Anderson has been an excellent fantasy player as compared to his preseason O-Rank. After his major drop in production from the 2013-14 season to 2014-15, Anderson slipped in a lot of drafts as the perception was he had peaked. That still may be accurate, but we don’t care about that on a DFS level. Should The Brow miss another game on Tuesday night, Anderson is a great daily play. In five games as a starter this season, he is averaging 17.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in nearly 39 minutes per game. That’s a nice return on investment for his owners in cash games.

 

DraftKings DFS Centers

Greg Monroe (vs CHI, $6,600)

Alright, Greg Monroe. Please don’t do what you normally do when I roster you- which is nothing. In all honesty, though, as much as I bash Monroe, he has been a rather consistent performer when healthy. Now that he is starting to get his minutes regularly in the mid-30s, he is rather underpriced on DraftKings. He will also go up against a Chicago Bulls squad that will be playing its second straight in as many nights and is giving up the most DraftKings fantasy points to the center position.
