The St. Louis Cardinals have activated Matt Adams from the 60-day DL, according to the Cardinals Twitter account.
The first baseman will not be in the lineup Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs, but he will be available off the bench.

It was originally believed that the slugger would miss the regular season after suffering a quad injury back in late May. There has been injuries to key players all season long for the Cardinals this season, including Adams. Despite the injuries, they have maintained the best record in MLB all season and will likely have homefield advantage through the NLCS.
Adams was in the middle of the lineup before the injury, but he wasn’t providing the stats teams were accustomed to seeing. The 27-year-old had a .243 BA with 4 HR and 20 RBI over 43 games this season. Brandon Moss has been up and down since he was traded to St. Louis to become the new every day first baseman.
Left-handed pitcher Nick Greenwood has been designated for assignment.
