Daniel Jones 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Achilles Injury Removes Rushing Upside
Daniel Jones was on pace for a career resurgence his first year in Indianapolis before a torn Achilles in Week 14 ended his season prematurely. Before the injury, Jones was QB13 in fantasy points per game, thanks to his 19 passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns. With Jones not even gauranteed to be back by Week 1, and the team surely not going to test his injured Achilles with sneaks around the goal line, his spot as the QB27 in 2026 drafts makes sense. It may be Week 5 before Jones steps onto a field. In addition, the Colts lost Michael Pittman and made no attempt to replace him. That leaves new WR1 Alec Pierce, Tyler Warren, and Josh Downs as the receiving weapons for Jones. In the early part of the season, there should be plenty of Jonathan Taylor, and there is no reason for the Colts to abandon that plan, even when Jones returns. He is a bench/IR stash at best this summer.
