NHL Power Rankings: Where Do All 32 Teams Stand Ahead of Week 24?

Matvei Michkov - Fantasy Hockey Rankings NHL DFS Picks, DFS Hockey

Andy's NHL power rankings for all 32 teams heading into Week 24 of the 2025-2026 season. Where does each NHL team stand in our latest power rankings for the 2025-26 season?

With another week of NHL action in the books, it's time to update our power rankings ahead of Week 24.

This week, we saw the Canadiens turn in an impressive showing, and the Blues continue to climb in the Western Conference.

All statistics and team records mentioned are updated as of Monday, March 30. Who were the biggest risers and fallers from this past week? Let's dive in!

No. 32 - Vancouver Canucks

Last Week Ranking - 32

After showing some progress last week, posting a 2-1 record, the Canucks quickly fell back in the losing column in Week 23. In the three-game slate, the Canucks dropped all three games in a combined 16-6 score. They would fall to the Ducks, Kings, and Flames.

Vancouver has now dropped each of their last five games and remains in the clear bottom spot on our rankings and the league standings. Through 71 games, they have earned a mere 50 points and carry a rough -84 GD.

No. 31 - Chicago Blackhawks

Last Week Ranking - 31

Chicago opened the week with an upset victory over the Islanders on Long Island (4-3), which helped them play a little spoiler in the Islanders' postseason pursuit. In this victory, Nick Lardis led the way, totaling three points. However, their momentum would stall quickly as they dropped their next two games in regulation to the Flyers (5-1) and the Rangers (6-1).

On Sunday, they would end their week by losing their third-straight game, this time to the Devils. The Blackhawks have won just three of their last 10 games and carry the second-worst -52 GD.

No. 30 - New York Rangers

Last Week Ranking - 29

The Rangers had a rough showing in Week 22, dropping four straight games with only one of them going to overtime. In Week 23, they began in a similar capacity, dropping their first two games to the Senators (2-1) and the Leafs (4-3). However, they would flip the script in the back-half of the week, defeating two bottom teams, the Blackhawks and Panthers.

New York is the only Eastern club that has been eliminated from postseason contention and enters Week 24 holding a 4-5-1 record over their last 10.

No. 29 - Toronto Maple Leafs

Last Week Ranking - 30

The Leafs took a dive in our rankings last week but began to find their footing in Week 23. They had a three-game schedule and managed to pick up four points. They began the week with an impressive upset victory over the Boston Bruins (4-2) and would then take down the Rangers (4-3).

Their week would end with a regulation loss to the St. Louis Blues (5-1). The Leafs carry a modest 4-4-2 record over their last 10 and sit just above .500 with a 31-30-13 record.

No. 28 - Florida Panthers

Last Week Ranking - 28

The Panthers began the week with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Kraken, which kept the slim hope of the postseason alive. However, they would end the week with three-straight losses, which all but put a bow on the end of their pursuit of a third-straight Stanley Cup.

They would drop their next three straight games in regulation to the Wild, Islanders, and Rangers. Through 73 games, they hold a 35-35-3 record and enter Week 24 as the second-worst team in the conference, only above the Rangers.

No. 27 - Calgary Flames

Last Week Ranking - 27

The Flames continued their homestand in Week 23 and turned in some strong showings, posting a 2-0-1 record. They began the week with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Los Angeles Kings. While they fell to the Ducks on Thursday in overtime, they concluded the week with a 7-3 dominating victory over the lowly Canucks.

In this contest, young winger Matthew Coronato posted a three-point effort, which extended his current point streak to five games. Through 72 games this season, the 23-year-old found the back of the net 17 times and tacked on 22 helpers, just one shy of a career-high.

No. 26 - Seattle Kraken

Last Week Ranking - 24

The Kraken saw all three of their games go to overtime as they continue to pursue a playoff spot. They posted a 1-0-2 record with their lone victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning in overtime. They would fall to the Panthers and the Sabres in the extra frame, earning them two crucial points.

While they carry a 3-5-2 record over their last 10, the Kraken sit just two points behind the Predators for the final Wild Card and only four out of the No. 3 spot in the Pacific Division. They will begin Week 24 with two Western matchups against the Oilers and the Mammoth, which could very well decide their playoff fate.

No. 25 - San Jose Sharks

Last Week Ranking - 21

The Sharks continued their slide in Week 23 and are quickly losing ground in the playoff race. In Week 23, the Sharks posted a 1-1-1 record but dropped two massive games against Western clubs. On Tuesday, they fell 6-3 to the Predators, who sit just above them in the standings, and would then fall 2-1 (overtime) to the Blues.

While they would end the week with a much-needed 3-2 victory over the surging Blue Jackets, they carry a 3-6-1 record over their last 10 and are trending in the wrong direction. They now sit behind the Jets, Kraken, and Kings in the Wild Card hunt. They will open Week 24 with a rematch against the Blues.

No. 24 - Los Angeles Kings

Last Week Ranking - 23

While the Jets and Blues made some ground in the Western playoff picture, the Kings did the opposite. Los Angeles posted a modest 1-1-1 record in Week 23 and entered the start of April just one point out of the current playoffs. Their regulation victory came against the Canucks, thanks to a 19-save shutout by Darcy Kuemper.

Their losses would come against the Flames (in a shootout) and the Mammoth (6-2) in regulation. The Kings will open in April, facing the Blues in a massive match with major postseason implications.

No. 23 - Winnipeg Jets

Last Week Ranking - 26

The Winnipeg Jets continued to stack points and remain just outside the Western Playoff picture. This week, the Jets picked up four of their six possible points. They were able to take down the Golden Knights (4-1) on Tuesday and split with the Avalanche on Thursday and Saturday, concluding their week.

Winnipeg now holds a strong 5-3-2 record over their last 10 and sits just three points out of the final Wild Card. Center Mark Scheifele continues to lead the scoring department as he tacked on another six points (three goals). He enters Week 24 with a career-high 89 points, with 34 of them coming as goals.

No. 22 - New Jersey Devils

Last Week Ranking - 22

While their playoff hopes are all but finished, the Devils put together a strong showing in Week 23 and even took down some of the top teams in the sport. They began the week with two straight regulation victories over the Dallas Stars (6-4) and the Predators (4-2). However, they would drop their contest against the Metropolitan-leading Hurricanes (5-2) on Saturday.

On Sunday, they finished the week with a 5- 2 victory over the struggling Blackhawks. In this contest, star center Jack Hughes added another four points to his season total, bringing him to 63 points over 52 contests.

No. 21 - Nashville Predators

Last Week Ranking - 19

The Predators pushed their winning streak to five games on Tuesday night when they took down the Sharks in a massive game for their playoff hopes. In this victory, top wingers Filip Forsberg and Jonathan Marchessault both tallied three points each. Unfortunately, the tides would turn for the Predators as they then dropped their next three games.

They would conclude Week 23 with the three-straight regulation losses (to the Devils, Canadiens, and Lightning), which put a massive damper on their playoff pursuit. They enter Week 24 in the final Wild Card, but both the Kings and Krake are within two points, and the Jets are within three.

No. 20 - St. Louis Blues

Last Week Ranking - 25

Like the Jets, the Blues continued their late-season surge and are now within striking distance of a playoff spot. This week, the Blues posted an impressive 3-0 record, taking down the Capitals, Sharks, and Maple Leafs by a commanding 10-2 margin. Entering Week 24, the Blues carry a 31-30-11 record and a strong 7-1-2 over their last 10.

While Jimmy Snuggerud is not getting as much Calder Trophy buzz as the other top candidates, the rookie winger is playing at an elite level. Over his last 11 games, the winger has scored seven goals and added seven helpers and is providing a major spark to this offense.

No. 19 - Washington Capitals

Last Week Ranking - 20

The Capitals continue to stack points but are losing their footing in the Eastern Conference. This week, Washington posted a 2-1 record but remain six points out of the Wild Card. They would take down the Golden Knights (in a shootout) and the Mammoth in regulation, but fall to the red-hot Blues in regulation (3-0).

Over their last 10 games, Washington holds a strong 6-2-2 record, but given their tough division and conference, they are facing an uphill battle to re-enter the Wild Card race, currently sitting five points out of a playoff spot.

No. 18 - Vegas Golden Knights

Last Week Ranking - 17

While their division counterpart, the Oilers, needed a surge this week, the Golden Knights had the opposite. The Knights had a three-game slate and managed to tally just two points, with both coming as overtime loser points (against the Oilers and Capitals). They would fall to the Winnipeg Jets (4-1) in regulation.

While their weaker division does provide them with some leeway, their 3-6-1 record over their last 10 has closed the gap, and now the Kings and Kraken sit within four points of them. Vegas will begin Week 24 with a prime get-right match against the Canucks.

The Golden Knights also made headlines on Sunday, firing head coach Bruce Cassidy in favor of longtime NHL HC John Tortorella.

No. 17 - Detroit Red Wings

Last Week Ranking - 16

The Red Wings' inconsistent play continues to hurt them, and they now enter Week 24 outside the current playoff picture. They began the week with another regulation loss, this time to the Senators who were just behind them in the standings. While they picked up a massive two points over the Sabres on Friday, they quickly lost that ground, falling to the Flyers (5-3) on Saturday night.

The Wings hold a modest 4-5-1 record over their last 10 games and have their backs against the wall. They will open Week 24 with another massive contest, this time facing the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.

No. 16 - Utah Mammoth

Last Week Ranking - 15

The Mammoth submitted in Week 23, but still holds their footing as the No. 1 Wild Card in the Western Conference. They posted a 1-2 record with their lone victory coming over the Los Angeles Kings (6-2) on Saturday. In this victory, top defenseman Mikhail Sergachev tallied four helpers.

Their regulation losses came against the Capitals and the Oilers. While the 4-5-1 record over their last 10 is not overly impressive, they continue to remain just above the logjam in the conference. They will open Week 24 with a tilt in Seattle against the Kraken.

No. 15 - Edmonton Oilers

Last Week Ranking - 18

No Leon Draisaitl? No problem. Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard put the Oilers on their backs this week, leading them to three straight victories as they continue to build their cushion for a postseason bid. The two skaters combined for an impressive 15 points over these three games played.

The Oilers now sit in sole possession of the No. 2 spot in the Pacific Division and are just three behind the Ducks for the top spot. They will open Week 23 on Tuesday night with a match against the Kraken.

No. 14 - Anaheim Ducks

Last Week Ranking - 14

The Ducks continued to stack points and remain the favorite to take the top spot in the Pacific Division. In Week 23, Anaheim posted a 2-1 record, with victories over the Canucks and the Flames (in overtime), while their lone loss came to the Oilers. While the Oilers are just three points behind them, the Ducks have an extra game in hand, which could be the difference maker.

Anaheim will begin Week 24 with a favorable match against the Leafs in California. Their top trade deadline acquisition, defenseman John Carlson, enjoyed a massive week on the scoreboard, tallying seven helpers over these three games.

No. 13 - Philadelphia Flyers

Last Week Ranking - 13

The Flyers entered the week flying high following a dominant showing in Week 22, which pushed them back into the Eastern playoff race. While they began the week with a tough 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets, they quickly got back on track, defeating the Blackhawks (5-1) and the Red Wings (5-3).

On Sunday, they picked up another massive victory, taking down the Dallas Stars in a shootout. The Flyers enter Week 24 just two points behind the Blue Jackets with a game in hand. They will begin Week 24 in Washington before facing three teams in the heart of the playoff race, the Red Wings, Islanders, and Bruins.

No. 12 - Pittsburgh Penguins

Last Week Ranking - 11

Sitting just below the Islanders are the Penguins. The Penguins continued to battle through injuries to their top players (Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin) but remain in the heart of the postseason race. This week, the Penguins posted a 1-2 record, with losses to Western heavyweights the Avalanche and the Stars.

Their lone victory could come on Thursday night, in a shootout victory against the Ottawa Senators. They enter Week 24 as the No. 3 team in the division, just one point behind the Islanders, who they face on Monday night. Following the Islanders, the Penguins will host the Red Wings in another massive contest for the playoff race.

No. 11 - New York Islanders

Last Week Ranking - 12

The Islanders began the week with a tough 4-3 loss to the Blackhawks but rebounded in a major way to close it out. Over their final two games, the Islanders would pick up all four points and take down the Dallas Stars (2-1) on Thursday and then the Panthers (5-2) on Saturday.

The Islanders enter Week 24 as the No. 2 team in the Metropolitan Division but have played an extra game against the division's No. 3 team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. The two will face off in what could be a playoff-deciding matchup on Monday night in Elmont.

No. 10 - Ottawa Senators

Last Week Ranking - 9

The Senators began the week with a critical 3-2 victory over the Red Wings to continue to earn points in the crowded Eastern Conference. However, over their final two games, they would fall to the Penguins in a shootout and then drop a 4-2 contest to the Lightning on Saturday, handing them their second straight loss.

Despite the rough finish to the week, the Senators hold a strong 6-3-1 record over their last 10 games and remain just one point behind the Blue Jackets (and six behind the Bruins for the Wild Card). They will begin Week 24 with a favorable matchup against the Panthers in Sunrise.

No. 9 - Minnesota Wild

Last Week Ranking - 6

The Wild continued their inconsistent trajectory and appear all but locked into the No.3 spot in the Central Division. In Week 23, the Wild posted a 1-2 record with their lone victory coming against the Florida Panthers (3-2) on Thursday. They would drop their matches against the Lightning and Bruins in regulation by a combined 12-6 score.

The Wild now enter the new week with a modest 4-5-1 over their last 10 games, and just five points behind the Stars with an extra game played. Unless they enjoy a late-season surge, they are expected to hold the No. 3 spot in the division come the postseason.

No. 8 - Columbus Blue Jackets

Last Week Ranking - 5

Columbus rebounded in a big way to open the week, taking down the Flyers in a massive 3-2 victory to give them a much-needed boost in the standings. However, they would drop their next two games in regulation (to the Canadiens and Sharks). On Sunday, their struggles would persist as they would not allow a late-game-tying goal to the Bruins and would eventually fall in a shootout.

The Blue Jackets still hold the final Wild Card in the Eastern Conference at 88 points but are quickly losing ground. Their schedule won't get much easier as they open Week 24 with two matchups against the Hurricanes.

No. 7 - Boston Bruins

Last Week Ranking - 10

The Bruins opened the week with a disappointing 4-2 loss to the lowly Maple Leafs but quickly found their footing and ran off three straight victories. The Bruins would take down the Sabres (5-4) in overtime on Wednesday and then upset the Wild (6-3) on Saturday. On Sunday, they would end the week with an impressive 4-3 shootout victory over the Blue Jackets.

They now stand at 92 points and continue to pad their lead over the Senators and Red Wings in the Wild Card race. Additionally, the B's sit just two points behind the Canadiens for the No. 3 spot in the Atlantic.

No. 6 - Buffalo Sabres

Last Week Ranking - 3

The Bruins ended Week 22 with an overtime loss to the Ducks and continued to slide in Week 23. Over a three-game slate, the Sabres posted a 1-1-1 record, which slightly shrunk their lead over the Lightning in the Atlantic Division. They would take down the Kraken in a shootout for the line victory and fall to the Red Wings and Bruins.

The Sabres enter Week 24 as the top team in the Atlantic but sit only two points above the Lightning (who have an extra two games at hand). They will begin Week 24 with a tough match against the Islanders.

No. 5 - Tampa Bay Lightning

Last Week Ranking - 8

The Lightning posted a strong showing last week and continued to stake points in Week 23. They had a busy four-game slate and posted a 3-0-1 record. Their regulation victories came against the Wild, Senators, and Predators. Their lone loss came against the Kraken in overtime on Thursday night.

The Lightning now enter Week 24 at the top of the Atlantic Division but are tied alongside the Sabres in terms of points. After a brief skid last month, the Lightning carry a strong 7-1-2 record over their last 10 and have found their footing at the right time.

No. 4 - Montreal Canadiens

Last Week Ranking - 7

Montreal ended last week with a massive 7-3 victory over the Islanders and stayed hot in Week 23, picking up all eight points. Montreal would take down the Hurricanes (twice), surging Blue Jackets, and Predators by a combined 14-5 score. Netminder Jakub Dobes led the way in three of these games, allowing only one goal in two of them.

The Canadiens enter the new week sitting in the No. 3 spot in a competitive Atlantic Division, but have minimal room for error as the Bruins and Senators are both within striking distance.

No. 3 - Dallas Stars

Last Week Ranking - 1

The Stars saw their slump continue early in Week 23 as they dropped their first two games of the week, to the Devils (6-4) and the Islanders (2-1). However, they got back in the win column on Saturday, taking down the Penguins (6-3) in Pittsburgh. On Sunday, they earned a loser point as they fell to the surging Flyers in overtime.

Even though they have hit a bit of a skid over the last few weeks (holding a 4-4-2 record over their last 10), the Stars remain the favorite to claim the No. 2 spot in the division and host their first-round playoff series.

No. 2 - Carolina Hurricanes

Last Week Ranking - 4

The Hurricanes capped off last week with a statement victory over the Penguins in the Steel City, but saw their momentum snapped at the hands of the Canadiens on Tuesday night. In this loss, the Hurricanes surrendered five goals as netminder Frederik Anderson stopped just 14 of the 18 shots he saw.

While they got back in the win column on Saturday, taking down the Devils (5-2), they would drop their second game of the week to these same Canadiens on Sunday (3-1). Despite dropping two games, Carolina remains in the sole position of the top spot in the Metropolitan Division and remains a top contender in the East.

No. 1 - Colorado Avalanche

Last Week Ranking - 2

The Avalanche ended last week on a two-game winning streak and continued to fly higher early in Week 23. After falling to the Penguins on their home ice a few weeks ago, they got some revenge in Pittsburgh, taking them down by a commanding 6-2 score on Tuesday night.

They then pushed their win streak to four games on Thursday, defeating the Jets (3-2). However, the Jets would flip the script on them on Saturday in the second half of a home-and-home. The Avalanche sit comfortably as the top team in the West and continue to pad their cushion for the Presidents' Trophy.
