Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Tez Johnson: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 12

Tez Johnson - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Rankings, Deeper League Sleepers

Should I start Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Tez Johnson for Week 12? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

The NFL season rolls on into Week 12 with some key games on the scoreboard for teams in search of playoff positioning coming down the stretch. It's also crunch time for fantasy football, making every lineup decision critical. Wide receiver is always a volatile spot with players rising and falling based on opportunity and offering high ceilings with big plays.

In this article, we'll look at Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Tez Johnson to see if they should be started or left on your bench in Week 12's matchup. All three wide receivers have shown high upside but have not been consistent in the long term.

So, should fantasy managers start Watson, Doubs, and Johnson in Week 12? Let's dive in and find out.

Should I Start Christian Watson for Fantasy Football?

Watson started the season on the PUP list after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during Week 18 of last season. He missed the first seven weeks of the season, but he has stepped right into a meaningful role for the Packers' passing game and showed his high ceiling last week.

In each of his four games this season, Watson has at least four targets and has finished with at least 40 yards. Even though his snap count and practice reps are still being managed, he is getting enough work to have a high floor in most matchups.

He showed his ceiling in Week 11 by hauling in a pair of touchdown passes from Jordan Love in the Packers' narrow, 27-20 win over the Giants.

Watson had a season-high five targets on Sunday against New York and played over 75% of snaps for the second straight week. While he's been limited in practice again this week, he should still be ready to go this weekend.

This week, the Packers host the Vikings in a very important division game, and Watson is the WR30 in RotoBaller's rankings. He is a strong flex play

Should I Start Romeo Doubs for Fantasy Football?

Watson's teammate Romeo Doubs (wrist) has also been limited in his two practices this week, leading up to that game against the Vikings. Doubs has much better totals on the season than Watson, since he has played in all 10 of the Packers' games this year.

Doubs had a huge fantasy game against the Cowboys, with three touchdowns in Week 4, showing he can be effective in the red zone, which the Packers can rely on with both Tucker Kraft (knee) and Jayden Reed (collarbone/foot) on IR still.

While he hasn't found the end zone since that outburst, he has caught at least three passes in five of his six games since then, racking up over 50 yards in three of those six contests, highlighted by a 91-yard game against the Panthers in Week 9.

He is not quite as much of a vertical threat as Watson, but he has been typically getting more looks in the short passing game. He has at least eight targets in five of his last seven games, and he should be heavily targeted again against Minnesota.

Since he's getting more work, he's ranked just one spot ahead of his teammate as RotoBaller's WR29 for this week's matchup against Minnesota. Watson brings a little more sizzle and upside, but if both have no injury limitations this week Doubs is a safer play that just edges out Watson as a WR3 or flex play this week.

Should I Start Tez Johnson for Fantasy Football?

Rookie Tez Johnson has had a breakout season for the Bucs, stepping into a large role along with his fellow rookie Emeka Egbuka, especially with veterans Mike Evans and Chris Godwin Jr. dealing with multiple injuries this year.

Johnson and the Bucs are in Los Angeles to face the Rams on Sunday Night Football this week, and the Rams' defense has been very impressive this season, overall. Johnson's role in the matchup is still a little uncertain since Egbuka has missed time this week while battling an illness, and Godwin looks to be on track to return from a fibula injury that has kept him sidelined since Week 5.

Even if Godwin is back, though, he may not be ready for a full workload, and Johnson has shown that he brings lots of big-play potential every time he touches the ball. He had four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 after the team's bye week, scoring two touchdowns and producing over 20 fantasy points in most formats.

Last week against the Bills, though, he struggled with just one catch on three targets for six yards. It was his lowest output since Week 3 and snapped a string of five straight games with over 40 yards.

The Rams are a fairly neutral matchup against wide receivers, which makes Johnson a boom-or-bust option. He's ranked as the No. 35 wide receiver by RotoBaller this week, which makes him a fringe flex option. Both of the Packers' receivers in this post rank ahead of Tez, even though Johnson does bring a high ceiling due to his big-play potential, especially if the Bucs air it out to keep up with the Rams in what should be a fun Sunday night matchup.
