Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 9:
J.K. Dobbins, RB, Broncos
Although Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has been averaging just over 16 touches per game through Week 8 of the season, he will face one of his most difficult matchups of the season as he travels to Houston to face the Texans. The Texans have only allowed 88.4 rushing yards per game so far this season, but they have allowed a middling seven touchdowns on the ground.
After seeing rookie running back RJ Harvey take some of the goal-line opportunities away from Dobbins in Week 8 against the Cowboys, it will be hard to predict that this won't be a trend in the future. As RotoBaller's RB22 overall on the week, start Dobbins as a volume-based RB2.
Woody Marks, RB, Texans
Houston Texans running back Woody Marks (calf) was limited in practice this week but does not have an injury designation for Week 9's matchup against the Broncos. Marks had a massive breakthrough performance in Week 4 with 69 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, and a pair of touchdowns. He took a back seat to Nick Chubb in Week 5's blowout win, but he has been productive in an even timeshare with Chubb in the last two weeks.
Marks can produce excellent receiving yards and PPR production when he's at his best, and has scored two of his touchdowns through the air. Last week, he also had one of his best rushing games with 62 rushing yards on his 11 carries. Marks has a tough matchup against the Broncos this week, but he's still the RB25, showing he's a solid RB3 or flex option even against the strong Denver defense.
Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, Giants
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has had a relatively quiet season so far after missing two games with a shoulder injury, which allowed rookie Cam Skattebo to take over as lead back. With Skattebo now out for the season after suffering an ankle injury in Week 8 against the Eagles, Tracy is set up to handle the majority of the touches in New York's backfield.
The 25-year-old worked as the Giants' lead back last season from Week 5 on and earned over 17 opportunities per game while playing 68.3% of the snaps. He averaged 14.3 PPR points per game during that stretch, ranking as RB20. Veteran Devin Singletary should mix in for touches occasionally, but most of the volume will likely go to Tracy. He's a must-add player this week and is worth a heavy FAAB investment if he is available.
Kimani Vidal, RB, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal had another breakout performance last week with 23 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown, fully embracing his bell-cow role throughout the night. He now faces a Tennessee Titans defense that ranks 26th against the run and has surrendered a league-high 14 rushing touchdowns this season.
With key defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (hamstring) ruled out, the Titans' already fragile run defense is even more vulnerable. Additionally, backup running back Hassan Haskins (hamstring) is again ruled out, solidifying Vidal's volume advantage. RotoBaller projects Vidal as RB13 this week. He is a must-start in all leagues and a borderline high-end RB1.

That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this tool. When you search for player names, you will only see those players who are ranked. If someone is out for the week, they will not appear in the search results.
