Chase DeLauter, Daniel Espino Headed to Arizona Fall League
Chase DeLauter (wrist) is headed to the Arizona Fall League (AFL) this October. He'll be joined by seven other Guardians prospects, including one of the team's former top-ranked prospects, pitcher Daniel Espino. DeLauter has endured a multitude of injuries during his time in the minors, having never played in more than 57 games in any of the last three seasons, and has been on the shelf since mid-July with a wrist injury. Espino (shoulder) has had similar injury issues as well, having not been able to take the mound since early 2022. The AFL will help both players make up for lost time and help prepare for the 2026 season. Both have a chance to be in the majors next year, with DeLauter potentially able to make the team out of spring training.
