Alex Vesia Placed on Injured List With Right-Oblique Strain
Alex Vesia (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Aug. 23, with a right-oblique strain. Vesia last pitched on Aug. 21, tossing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. The 29-year-old has put together another useful season for the Dodgers while serving several roles, going 3-2 with four saves and 21 holds to go with a 2.75 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP, and a 33.0% strikeout rate in 52 1/3 innings of work. Tanner Scott should continue to lead the Dodgers' bullpen in high-leverage situations, but who may be called upon in Vesia's absence is anyone's guess, given how the Dodgers mix and match their bullpen usage.
