The Athletic's Katie Woo reported Monday that St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II (ankle) is hitting and is hoping to progress to more routes later in the week. The 24-year-old defensive phenom was placed on the 10-day injured list on August 17 with a left ankle sprain. He is currently without a return timetable. Scott II served a key defensive role for the Cardinals and a key speed role for fantasy managers, slashing .223/.311/.312 with five home runs, 35 RBI, and 31 stolen bases in 402 plate appearances. Fantasy managers will need to wait for more news before knowing when they may be able to get his speed back in their lineups.--Connelly Doan
