Jeferson Quero Activated from Injured List
Jeferson Quero (shoulder) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. The Brewers' fourth-ranked prospect was dealing with a shoulder sprain and hasn't played since July 23. The 22-year-old got a late start to the season recovering from injuries to his shoulder and hamstring, so he has logged just 30 games for the Sounds so far this year. The Venezuelan backstop slashed .259/.333/.362 with a pair of home runs and an 11:15 BB:K in those 30 contests, and will hopefully put the injury issues behind him for the remainder of the year. He had a good chance to make a major league debut this season, but is less likely now after so much time missed. With William Contreras locked in at catcher, there's no need to rush him up, but Quero should debut next season and bring some decent pop along with him, although his stellar defense could be a big reason behind his eventual promotion.
