Texas Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said Monday that the team is "targeting Wednesday" for starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (back) to make his next start, per Dallas News' Shawn McFarland. Eovaldi was scratched from Sunday's start against the Tigers due to back stiffness. The 35-year-old has dealt with injuries throughout his career but has been outstanding this season, going 7-3 with a 1.58 ERA, a 0.85 WHIP, and a 27.0% strikeout rate in 16 starts and 91 innings pitched. If all goes well, he would line up for a start against a strong Athletics lineup. While the veteran has been excellent this season, the tough matchup and his questionable health could encourage fantasy managers to sit him if he takes the mound.--Connelly Doan
