Christian Mahogany Expected to Start for Lions
Detroit Lions guard Christian Mahogany is expected to step into a full-time starting role in 2025, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic. The Lions drafted Mahogany in the sixth round out of Boston College in 2024, and he played well in a spot-starter role as a rookie. Pro Football Focus graded Mahogany seventh-highest out of 136 qualified guards, albeit in a small sample size of just 75 snaps. Detroit lost 2024 starting right guard Kevin Zeitler to free agency and All-Pro center Frank Ragnow to retirement, so the interior of their offensive line is in flux.
