Baltimore Orioles utility man Jorge Mateo (hamstring) has been transferred from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL, per a team announcement. The move was made to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for catcher Alex Jackson. Mateo injured his hamstring while on a rehab assignment as he was working his way back from inflammation in his elbow. The ailments have limited him to 65 major-league plate appearances in 2025, and he's hitting .180 with a 35.4% K% in that limited sample. Mateo is a legitimate speed source (14 stolen bases), so he could be a name to monitor if he's able to return with a fully healthy hamstring for the final stretch of the season.--Will Brady
