Connor Thomas to Undergo Elbow Surgery
Connor Thomas (elbow) had a setback after appearing in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 25 and will have surgery to remove loose bodies in his elbow, according to MLB.com. Thomas had been recovering from left-elbow arthritis and will now miss even more time. He initially landed on the 15-day injured list on April 8 and was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 18. The 27-year-old southpaw will now miss even more time, meaning he won't be an option for Milwaukee's bullpen until some point in the second half of the season, if at all. Thomas only appeared in two games in his first taste of major-league action earlier this year before getting hurt, and he allowed a whopping 12 earned runs on 12 hits (three homers) while walking two and fanning five in just 5 1/3 innings.
