Jerar Encarnacion Activated From Injured List
Jerar Encarnacion (hand) from the 60-day injured list on Monday and optioned outfielder Luis Matos to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic. Encarnacion isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's contest against the division-rival San Diego Padres, but the right-handed-hitting outfielder could see decent playing time now that he's back. The 27-year-old Dominican suffered a fractured left hand in spring training that caused him to miss the first two months of the regular season. Encarnacion was tearing it up in spring training before his injury and looked to be a big part of the lineup, so he's worth a waiver-wire pickup for outfield depth in deep-mixed fantasy leagues now that he's back. In 58 games in his two MLB seasons, Encarnacion has hit .221/.250/.389 with eight home runs and 33 RBI.
