Alex Cobb to Receive More Injections
Alex Cobb (hip) is scheduled to receive a series of injections to help treat the remaining inflammation in his right hip, according to MLive's Evan Woodbery. The good news is that Cobb continues to play catch on a daily basis. The bad news is that he continues to deal with inflammation in his bum right hip, and there remains no timetable for his potential return to the Tigers. The 37-year-old veteran's hip has been bothering him since the start of spring training, and he's been on the injured list since Opening Day. He initially received an epidural injection in his hip in late February, which apparently didn't do much. At this point in time since Cobb hasn't returned to the mound, it seems likely that we won't see him until after the mid-July All-Star break. The oft-injured hurler was a first-time All-Star in 2023 with the Giants but made just three starts in 2024 with Cleveland due to injuries.
