NASCAR Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 DFS: DraftKings Lineup Picks for Texas (5/2/25)

Justin's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway. Read his 2025 daily fantasy NASCAR advice and Truck sleepers.

After taking last weekend off, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is back in action on Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway. The 1.5-mile track in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has seen 11 consecutive winners start sixth or better, so keep that in mind when betting on this race.

Last time out, the series was at Rockingham, where Tyler Ankrum scored a surprising win while Jake Garcia finished second. It was an exciting return to the Rock after the track had been off the schedule for years.

Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the NASCAR Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 on DraftKings. Be sure also to check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series, including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station. This slate locks on 5/2/2025 at 8:20 p.m. EDT.

Post-Qualifying Updates

Check back here after qualifying for some updates on top contenders and top place differential plays.

Top Contenders

Qualifying was cancelled by rain so we have a strange field here. Corey Haim is the obvious choice to dominate from fourth place while Grant Enfinger is a sneaky option from fifth. Layne Riggs and Chandler Smith are also strong options,

Top Place Differential Plays

Here are some place differential plays to consider:

  • Nick Sanchez
  • Carson Hocevar — probably chalk, so keep that in mind
  • Matt Crafton
  • Stewart Friesen - one of my favorite plays, by far
  • Ty Majeski — more chalk
  • Tanner Gray
  • Ben Rhodes — must play in Cash
  • Matt Mills
  • Stefan Parsons — favorite value guy

Fades Because They Qualified Too Well

Here are drivers who worry me:

  • Tyler Ankrum
  • Kaden Honeycutt
  • Jack Wood
  • Spencer Boyd

Top Drivers

Corey Heim - $11.0K

Not counting Atlanta since it races like a superspeedway now, we've been to one similar track this year. That was Vegas, where Corey Heim shook off a disappointing qualifying effort and won.

It took some time for Heim to work his way through the field, but he led 42 laps. Now, we head to Texas, a track Heim has surprisingly not won in the Truck Series. He came close last year, though, finishing second to Kyle Busch.

With no Busch in the field on Friday night, Heim should be the clear favorite.

Carson Hocevar - $10.7K

Carson Hocevar returns to the Truck Series on Friday night, making his first start since 2023, when he ran full-time and finished fourth in the standings with four victories.

One of those wins? It came right here at Texas Motor Speedway, though Hocevar led just a single lap in that one. However, to prove that wasn't a fluke, two of his other three wins also came on intermediate tracks. He should be Heim's biggest threat on Friday night.

Nick Sanchez - $10.0K

So, I'm torn here. Nick Sanchez, who now races in the Xfinity Series, dips down to make his first Truck Series start of 2025. He should be a contender, but I worry about his $10.0K price tag.

Still, Sanchez has been very good at this track, so it's likely worth having some exposure even at this price point. In 2023, he dominated this race, leading 168 laps before a late crash ended his day. Last year, he won the pole, led 16 laps, and finished third.

Layne Riggs - $9.8K

Layne Riggs has only three top 10s this year, but he sits third in points and has finished every race. He was fifth at Vegas and second at Homestead, which suggests good things for this race.

(That's assuming he keeps the truck clean. Riggs crashed out of his only other start at Texas.)

Chandler Smith - $9.5K

This feels like a slight value. Chandler Smith has run well at Texas in the past, including posting a top five in the 2023 Xfinity Series race and a top five in the 2021 Truck Series race.

Smith has finished in the top 10 in six of the seven races this season, including eighth-place results at both Vegas and Homestead. He should be viewed as a major threat to win.

Mid-Tier NASCAR Trucks DFS Lineup Options

Ty Majeski - $9.2K

This is such a great price for Ty Majeski. Sure, his 2025 season is off to a bit of a bumpier start than you might like, but he was fourth at Vegas earlier in the season and comes to a Texas track where he's recorded three top 10s in a row, including a pair of top fives.

Grant Enfinger - $8.8K

It's been a solid season for Grant Enfinger. While he hasn't won yet, he does have three top fives, with his best finish coming at Vegas, where Enfinger was the runner-up.

Enfinger has yet to win at this track and has three consecutive finishes outside the top 10, but he also has five top fives at Texas. I'm betting on his earlier results here more than his recent issues.

Tyler Ankrum - $8.6K

Yes, Tyler Ankrum's win at Rockingham was a fuel-mileage win, but that shouldn't take away from how well he's running in 2025. Ankrum has six top-10s through seven races, including five top fives. He's finished in the top 10 in half his starts at Texas, though he crashed out on the first lap last year.

Rajah Caruth - $8.4K

Rajah Caruth has proven to be solid on intermediate tracks. His only career win was at Vegas, and of his six career top fives, two have come on this track type. Caruth has yet to record a top 10 at Texas after two starts, but he came fairly close last year, starting 10th and finishing 12th.

Stewart Friesen - $7.7K

Texas has always been a weirdly good track for Stewart Friesen. It was the site of his third — and most recent — victory in 2022, and half his starts here have resulted in top-10s.

What's more, Friesen has a pair of runner-up finishes and a third-place result on his Texas Motor Speedway resume. He's got four DNFs at the track, but his worst finish is 14th in the eight races he's finished.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Value Picks

Note: Some of these won't necessarily be values after qualifying. Check back then for updates, which will be at the top of the article.

Jake Garcia - $7.5K

DraftKings continues to underprice Jake Garcia despite his performance this season. They put him at $7.5K despite his averaging 35.1 DFS points per race so far.

Garcia comes into Friday's race with four consecutive top-10s, including a runner-up finish at Rockingham that saw him lead 43 laps. He finished fifth in the 2023 race at Texas.

Tanner Gray - $7.3K

Tanner Gray hasn't taken the kind of step forward that people thought he might this year, now that brother Taylor is running Xfinity, but his best run of the year came at Vegas, where he finished third. He has three top-10s in six career starts at Texas Motor Speedway.

Gio Ruggiero - $7.2K

Rookie Gio Ruggiero averages 34.6 DFS points per race, partially because he's been a solid source of place differential. Through seven races, Ruggiero has scored positive place differential four times. He went negative at Rockingham, but only by two spots.

Ruggiero comes into this race with back-to-back top-10s for the first time in his Truck Series career. Can he make it three in a row?

Andres Perez De Lara - $6.3K

Andres Perez and this No. 77 team are starting to put something together here, posting three consecutive top 20s. His increased performance hasn't resulted in a rise in his DFS salary yet, so there's still a good opportunity here to get him while he's still a value. Once he rises over $7.0K, he won't be nearly as appealing.

Stefan Parsons - $5.7K

The No. 20 truck makes its second start of the season. At Homestead, Stefan Parsons started 22nd and finished 18th, running a solid race for the Randy Young-owned team. He's a sneaky value option on Friday night.
