The Denver Broncos have agreed with free-agent safety Sam Franklin on a one-year, $1.5 million contract. The Temple alum joined the Carolina Panthers in 2020 as an undrafted free agent and spent all five seasons of his career with the team. Franklin appeared in 74 games for Carolina (nine starts), logging 105 tackles (71 solo) and three for loss. He recorded one sack and five pass breakups, and his lone interception was a 99-yard touchdown. Though the 29-year-old appeared in 10 games last season, he did not record a single statistic on defense, spending most of his playing time on special teams. It's likely that Franklin will serve as depth in Denver's defensive backfield.--Alex CiullaRead More News
