ANALYSIS: Rico Dowdle is a waiver wire target to monitor after leading the Cowboys backfield in touches in Week 2.
Heading into the season, reports indicated that the Dallas Cowboys backfield would feature a near-even split between Ezekiel Elliott and Dowdle. That has largely been the case through two weeks, with Elliott logging 16 touches and Dowdle 15.
In Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, Dowdle had seven carries for 30 yards and added four catches for 29 yards. His opportunities increased as the Saints took a commanding lead, forcing the Cowboys to adopt a pass-first approach.

In Week 3, the Cowboys face the Baltimore Ravens, one of the NFL's top run defenses, who held the Raiders to just 27 rushing yards in Week 2. While this might seem like a reason to avoid Dowdle, it could increase his involvement if the Cowboys are forced into a similar pass-heavy game plan.
Dowdle is an intriguing streaming option for Week 3, especially for managers in deep PPR leagues.
