Christian Scott is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 14 (2024). Target Christian Scott as a top prospect free-agent add for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 15% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Mets starting pitcher prospect Christian Scott had built up a reputation as a high strikeout pitcher coming into 2024. Over 2022 and 2023 in the minors, the righty struck out 184 batters in 146 1/3 IP (30.9% K%) and posted a solid 3.32 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP. In 2024, the former fifth-round draft pick upped his game, making five starts at Triple-A while posting a 3.20 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP with an astounding 38.3% K% before he was finally called up to the big league club.
Scott was solid, but not nearly as spectacular, in his five-game big league audition, posting a 3.90 ERA (3.50 FIP, 4.15 xFIP), 1.08 WHIP, and a 22.3% K% (25 K in 27 2/3 IP). Despite having relative success, the Mets opted to send him back to the minors for the time being.

Since returning to the minors, Scott has made three more starts, posting a 2.08 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 30.2% K% (16:3 K:BB) over 13 IP. The Mets have won 12 of their last 15 games, so there isn't urgency to bring him back up, however, there's surely to be an inevitable injury or trade that will force the Mets to bring him back up (unless Scott himself were to be traded), so fantasy managers should be ready to pounce as he's already shown he can handle big league hitters. In deeper leagues, managers should consider stashing the 25-year-old in anticipation of his recall.

Chandler Simpson - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: Unlike many players currently in the minor leagues, Chandler Simpson has proven he can be a valuable fantasy player at the MLB level. In his time in the majors, he hit .285 with 19 stolen bases in 35 games. Unfortunately, being a valuable fantasy player […]

Brady House - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: The Nationals went viral on social media this week for making a fun call-up. They called up their bat dog from Triple-A. While this was very cute and should improve the vibes a little bit in Washington, I don't think Bruce the Bat Dog will help […]

Samuel Basallo - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Samuel Basallo might be the best hitter in the minors right now, and he has catcher eligibility. What more do you need to know (I know catcher is super deep this year, but still)? Basallo has been an age-to-level monster for the majority of his pro […]

Andrew Painter - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Painter's last two starts don't give a ton of confidence that he is ready to be in the majors. It may not even be before the All-Star break before we see him, but that does not mean we are in stash territory. The good news is, […]

Colby Thomas - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: The A's continue to lose, and Colby Thomas continues to hit homers in Triple-A. The A's just got swept by the Angels, bringing their record to 26-44. While plays like Denzel Clarke's HR robbery can generate a spark for a team, the A's might need […]
