CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (2/29/24)

Bruce Thornton- CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

The extra day in February this year gives us a nice seven-game slate. We have a nice selection of bubble teams and power conferences on here, so let's unpack it! Nebraska heads to Columbus for a little appetizer before the normal start time. Hey, at least they don't chop these 6:30 games off the slate completely like they used to!

The regular window starts with Memphis heading to East Carolina. Michigan is in Jersey to take on Rutgers. Stanford heads to Salt Lake to take on the Utes. UCLA is in Seattle for a meeting with the Huskies. USC is also in Washington, but on the other side of the state to face the Cougars. We close this out in San Francisco with the Dons hosting Gonzaga.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks on DraftKings on 2/29/24, starting at 6:30 p.m. EST. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Deivon Smith, Utah ($8.2K)

It took an injury to Rollie Worster for Smith to break out, but I can't imagine him not being the focal point of this offense now. Smith put up 51.5 DraftKings points, including a triple-double, in the first meeting with Stanford. He did that in just 33 minutes! Smith has had a couple of clunkers since joining the starting lineup early in January, but his rebound and assist numbers keep the floor relatively high.

Koren Johnson, Washington ($7.3K)

Johnson had a bit of a slow start to the season, then missed a game due to a shoulder injury. Since his return to the starting lineup six games ago, Johnson is averaging 15.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 0.2 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game. All of those numbers are far above his season averages -- 4.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.3 steals to be exact. UCLA has been tougher of late, but Washington is finally playing like everyone thought he would.

Jaykwon Walton, Memphis ($5.2K)

The suspension of Malcolm Dandridge opened up a starting spot that was filled by Walton against Florida Atlantic. Walton responded with 23.75 DraftKings points in 34 minutes, so I would expect that arrangement to continue. We can do worse than a guy starting in a high-octane offense at this price. Walton has been a solid scorer both off the bench and in the lineup. He's one of the safer value plays that you'll come across.

Kymany Houinsou, Washington State ($4.5K)

Houinsou is a valuable piece off the Washington State bench. He's active on the boards and a good shooter. He can pile on the points with very few shots. After a rough January that saw his minutes dwindle into the single digits, Houinsou is back up to 20-25 minutes per game. His work on the glass and timely shooting have brought him this far. It should continue tonight against USC.

Also consider: Isaiah Collier, USC ($8K); Bruce Thornton, Ohio State ($7.8K); Marcus Williams, San Francisco ($7.1K); Nolan Hickman, Gonzaga ($6.9K); Paul Mulcahy, Washington ($5.4K); Ryan Beasley, San Francisco ($4.9K); Will McClendon, UCLA ($4.5K); Brandon Williams, UCLA ($4K)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

David Jones, Memphis ($9.4K)

His clunker against Charlotte last week was because his eye was bothering him. Jones was poked in the eye earlier in that game and wasn't right the rest of the way. That was his lowest DraftKings point total of the season and the only game out of the last six that he was under 40 DraftKings points. An outstanding performance against Florida Atlantic over the weekend alleviates my concern. If this game stays close, no one on the slate has the ceiling of Jones.

Nae'Qwan Tomlin ($6.6K)

Tomlin was a key piece of the Elite Eight run for Kansas State last year. He struggled to fit in Memphis for the first six weeks or so, but he has been a force lately. Tomlin is averaging 14 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game in February. Depending on who you read for information about NBA Draft stuff, Tomlin is even more sought after than his more famous teammate. We are starting to see why.

Joshua Morgan, USC ($4.7K)

Morgan sometimes racks up more fouls than counting stats, but that risk is baked into the price. When he stays on the court, Morgan is the best shot blocker in the country. His skills on offense are improving to the point where Morgan blows away value every time he plays 20 minutes. The issue is that he has failed to hit even 10 minutes in two of the last four games because of foul trouble. Proceed with caution.

Zed Key, Ohio State ($4.2K)

Key has failed to have nearly as much of an impact as he did last year, but his defensive work against Zach Edey has led to better minutes for him off the bench. Over the last three games, Key is averaging 6.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 1.7 steals in 16 minutes. Will Key win you a slate? No, but he should provide a good floor and give you enough capital to afford the two expensive guys who will.

Also consider: Graham Ike, Gonzaga ($8.8K); Jonathan Mogbo, San Francisco ($8.6K); Isaac Jones, Washington State ($7.8K); Rienk Mast, Nebraska ($7K); Brandon Angel, Stanford ($6.4K); Ndewedo Newbury, San Francisco ($6K); DJ Rodman, USC ($5.4K); Josiah Allick, Nebraska ($5K); Devin Royal, Ohio State ($3.9K)
