NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 12/08/23
There are three NHL games scheduled for today, and they all appear to be highly competitive. The Oilers seem to be a popular choice tonight as they are well-rested and are facing off against the Minnesota Wild, who played yesterday. Let's take a look at the available options for us tonight and see what value we can find.

"I'm aware that he didn't perform well in his last game against Vegas, but he still managed to make 43 saves and earn 15.60 fantasy points. Since it's only a three-game slate, the most important thing is to secure a win. If he can also achieve the save bonus, then it's a bonus. Personally, I don't think it's worth paying $8200 for Skinner at this moment."

Robert Thomas - DK $5.3K || FD $7.0K
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
I have a favorite strategy in DFS, which is to target the home team that played on the road the previous night while the road team had a rest. Tonight, the Blues have a good chance against the Jackets, who are not a great team to begin with. Although Thomas has not been performing well in the last few games, we need to differentiate ourselves in a three-game slate, and Thomas and his line should be low-owned. His line has been playing well since its formation, so they are due for a big game, and I think that will happen tonight.
The Blues have a 3-way tie at 8 for their current goal lead, here it is:

Carter Verhaeghe- DK $5.5K || FD $7.2K
Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins
Verhaeghe is a great pick for tonight's game. Using him is very simple. Barkov's line will go head-to-head with the Crosby line, which leaves Verhaeghe's line to attack the rest of the Pens' lines. The Pens have looked very slow and disinterested so far this season, which makes Verhaeghe's line a great option. He is also priced very low on DraftKings for what he brings to our lineups tonight. If you're not using his line, he makes a great one-off pick tonight.

Zach Werenski - DK $5.5K || FD $6.6K
Opponent - St.Louis Blues
The Blue Jackets are playing two games in a row, but we shouldn't miss the opportunity to have a defenseman like Werenski on our team. He shoots a lot, which is a good advantage against the Blues. In five of the last six losses by the Blues, they have given up at least four goals. This means they can be attacked, especially considering that the Blues rank in the bottom 10 in the NHL in shots allowed to defensemen. This makes Werenski a perfect fit for this game.
