DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/23/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Ketel Marte - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on October 23, 2023. Casey Wilson's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We're back at it on a Monday for what appears to be the last two-game slate of the MLB season. We will be shifting to showdown-format baseball for the rest of the postseason. I wrote an article for premium subscribers outlining our leverage in showdown baseball. Sign up to check out and get all our NFL and NBA content and projections for the rest of the season.

I will cover the two-game slate starting at 5:07 p.m. in this article. Today, we have two awesome baseball games on the docket. In the NLCS, we have game six in Philadelphia as the Phillies lead the Diamondbacks 3-2 and have been dominant at Citizens Bank throughout the playoffs. In the ALCS, we have a game seven and a true win or go home in a remarkable series between the Rangers and the Astros.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/23/2023 and the slate locking at 5:07 p.m. ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Nola, PHI vs. ARZ ($8,700 DK, $10,300 FD)

Aaron Nola is the clear top option on today's slate. We have reached the point in the postseason where there are no good matchups, but we are looking for pitchers with strikeout upside in good form. We get both of those with Nola. In his three postseason starts, Nola is 3-0 with a 0.96 ERA, 2.60 SIERA, 0.75 WHIP, 27.5% K%, and a 13.4% SwStr%. Nola should have the most extended leash of all pitchers going today, as his team is the only one not facing elimination. His opponent, the Arizona Diamondbacks, has a 25.9% K% this postseason. They also have the lowest wRC+ with a 96 and lowest OPS at .730. Lock in Nola.

Cristian Javier, HOU vs. TEX ($7,300 DK, $9,600 FD)

Javier is the cheapest arm on DraftKings but is the second most expensive on FanDuel. Although I like Nola much more, he is a cash game cornerstone on DraftKings and a nice contrarian play on FanDuel. These two arms would be my preferred pairing, but I will be overexposed to Nola tonight and mix and match Javier, Scherzer, and Kelly. So far in the postseason, Javier is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA, 4.56 SIERA, 0.94 WHIP, 27.9% K%, and 15.1% SwStr%. His fastball has been unhittable, and if the Astros want to advance, he must continue his postseason dominance like he has his entire career.

Also Consider: Max Scherzer, Merrill Kelly

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bryce Harper - 1B, PHI vs. Merrill Kelly ($5,900 DK, $4,600 FD)

How can we not love playoff Bryce tonight? This dude has been elite in the postseason in his career and, on paper, gets a favorable matchup against Merrill Kelly. Kelly has a 4.26 SIERA and a  50.0% FB% this postseason. Lefties hit him to a .346 wOBA and a .323 ISO over the last 30 days. In the playoffs, Harper has a 228 wRC+ and a 1.282 OPS. He has been the heart and soul of this team in the postseason for the last two seasons, and the most prominent players show up on the biggest stage. Harper is primed for this moment.

Ketel Marte- 2B, ARZ vs. Framber Valdez ($4,500 DK, $3,700 FD)

I debated long and hard which Diamondbacks bat I want to try to force into lineups tonight, and I landed on Ketel Marte. I will say I will have some exposure to Pavin Smith (if he starts) and Alek Thomas for some value, but ultimately, Marte will be my main piece tonight. I firmly believe that getting a piece against your pitcher for leverage over the field is essential on a two-game slate.

The second base position is challenging. I don't want to pay up for Altuve or Semien in their matchups, and Stott is not my favorite value play, so we land on Marte. So far this postseason, he has a 171 wRC+ and a 1.005 OPS. His price and ownership on Nola should make him under-owned, making him one of my favorites tonight.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez- OF, HOU vs. Max Scherzer ($6,300 DK, $4,300 FD)

Talk about being on another level this postseason. Yordan Alvarez is that dude. He leads the playoffs with six home runs. So far this postseason, he has a 277 wRC+, 1.426 OPS, 6 HRs, 14 RBIs, and 12 Rs. Scherzer hasn't been in his best form, and in his first start back from injury, he went four innings with an 11.25 ERA, 4.40 SIERA, and a 1.50 WHIP. He did get a bit unlucky, and his velocity was back up, so I don't expect the same outing here tonight. The Rangers did walk Alvarez last night with a runner on first and two outs, so there is some concern here, but it is still very tough not to put Yordan in lineups tonight.

Brandon Marsh -OF, PHI vs. Merill Kelly ($3,100 DK, $2,600 FD)

We leave Brandon Marsh for last, but he is certainly not the least. Price considered, he is my favorite bat on both sites tonight and is someone you must play if you are playing cash. His price point is outrageous for his postseason production, and we have seen over this series that he will stay in the game even against left-handed pitching. Marsh has a 151 wRC+ and a .931 OPS this postseason. To put that into perspective, that is better than Nick Castellanos, Adolis Garcia, Corbin Carroll, and Jose Altuve. Marsh is considerably cheaper and is a perfect wrap-around piece in Philly stacks.

2. Houston Astros vs. Max Scherzer
