NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/15/23
Our first Sunday of the season is the usual tiny 2-game slate so we need to do something to differentiate from the public and I believe these plays will help your build be unique tonight.
Every team is on a B2B and it's early in the season so no real advantage here Carolina did have to go to a shootout, but they play the Ducks so doesn't really matter.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Jonas Korpisalo - DK $7.8K || FD $7.5K
Opponent - Tampa Bay Lightning
It seems that Korpisalo is the only option for the Sens, as Tomkins is expected to make his NHL debut for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dostal will be starting for the Ducks. Raanta may not face more than 20 shots tonight, so Korpisalo is the likely choice unless you plan on stacking up on TB players. Despite allowing 5 goals in the previous game, Korpisalo made 37 saves in the season opener, which is promising. Let's hope he can keep Tampa Bay's scoring to a minimum and secure the win.

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Nick Paul - DK $4.1K || FD $4.6K
Opponent - Ottawa Senators
We can expect to see many power plays in today's game. It would be wise to consider adding a cheaper 3rd line player to your team, particularly one who is a key part of one of the best power plays in the league. This would provide great value and could be beneficial for a one-off play. Paul is a great candidate, as he has already scored two power-play goals this season. When doing research, one of the most important factors to consider is matchups, and this is where we can gain an advantage over the public. While the public tends to choose players based on name recognition, we can make more informed choices. Paul's matchup today against the Sens bottom 6 is a significant factor in his favor, making him a great option today.

Martin Necas - DK $5.7K || FD $5.5K
Opponent - Anaheim Ducks
Necas could be a great pick for a one-off if you're stacking the Lightning/Sens game. The second line for Carolina might go overlooked today. Necas scored 32 goals last year and has an average of 3 plus shots per game on the road. He also performs well on the PP with 10 goals and 20 assists. Additionally, he will avoid the only decent defensive defencemen the Ducks have in Fowler/Drysdale.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
Brady Skjei - DK $3.7K || FD $4.4K
Opponent - Anaheim Ducks
Skjei has been a trustworthy pick for my DFS lineups for a long time. He provides consistency every night, and his price never seems to fluctuate. Last season, he averaged more than 3 SABS (Shot Attempts Blocked Shots) per game, almost 8 FPPG. He is coming off a game last night against the Kings where he had an assist and 4 blocked shots, earning a very tidy 14.7 FPTS. The Ducks allowed 11 shots to Vegas defensemen last night, making this a great spot for Skjei.
