ANALYSIS: Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill has continued to provide a spark for the Ravens’ offense, most recently in Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers where Hill carried the ball seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for an additional 13 yards through the air.
The 25-year-old has spent his entire career in Baltimore but has never had a season where he has carried the ball more than 60 times. He is on pace to change that this year as he’s become more of a featured back in the absence of RB J.K. Dobbins, who will miss the entire season after suffering a torn Achilles in Week 1.
Ravens RB Gus Edwards has been the primary ball carrier between the two, as he has out-carried Hill by a 56 to 29 margin.
Hill, however, has served as Baltimore’s receiving back as well as the designated redzone/goal-line back. Hill has had ten total carries in the redzone this season for three total touchdowns, compared to Edwards' three carries and one touchdown.
There is not enough volume from a rushing perspective to entrust Hill as an every-week fantasy starter, but his touchdown-scoring opportunities as well as his receiving upside bode well for him as a potential plug-and-play option, especially in PPR formats.
