Week 6 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2023 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Cameron Dicker - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups, Kickers, Streamers

Mike Fanelli breaks down all 2023 fantasy football Week 6 kickers - streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. Our Week 6 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.

Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season is in the books. Let’s see how last week’s streaming kickers performed for fantasy players.

Blake Grupe was one of our top streaming kickers last week. He scored 14 fantasy points against the New England Patriots, making him the fourth-highest-scoring kicker of the week heading into the Monday Night Football matchup. Hopefully, fantasy players had Grupe on their team and got the Week 5 victory.

The only easy win came last week. So, let’s look at the top streaming kickers and rankings for Week 6.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 6

All streamers in this article are rostered in under 60% of Yahoo leagues.

Nick Folk (TEN) vs. Baltimore Ravens (28% Rostered)

Nick Folk has been an excellent addition to the Titans this season. The veteran kicker hasn’t missed a field goal or extra point attempt this year. Furthermore, he has averaged 11 fantasy points per game, scoring double digits in all but one contest. More importantly, Folk has played a significant role in Tennessee putting points on the board this season and should keep doing so moving forward.

This week, the veteran kicker has a fantasy-friendly matchup against the Ravens. Baltimore has surrendered 11 fantasy points per game to kickers this season, one of the highest averages in the NFL. Furthermore, they gave up 11 fantasy points to Chris Boswell in Week 5, including three field goal attempts. The Titans' offense will struggle to get in the end zone against the Ravens' defense, leading to plenty of opportunities for Folk.

Ka'imi Fairbairn (HOU) vs. New Orleans Saints (11% Rostered)

While the Texans couldn’t pull off the victory in Week 5, Ka'imi Fairbairn was outstanding for fantasy players. He had 15 fantasy points in defeat, the third-highest total entering Monday Night Football. The veteran kicker has only missed one field goal this season, making 93.8% of his 16 attempts. More importantly, Fairbairn has attempted at least three field goals in every game this year, including a season-high four kicks last week.

Meanwhile, the Saints have been a fantasy goldmine for opposing kickers until they faced the New England Patriots. Last week, rookie Chad Ryland missed his only field goal attempt and scored negative fantasy points. However, the Patriots offense looks like a high school team right now. New Orleans surrendered 11.3 fantasy points per game to kickers before last week, giving up 10 or more in all but one contest.

Eddy Pineiro (CAR) vs. Miami Dolphins (1% Rostered)

The Panthers are the only team in the NFL without a win this season. However, Eddy Pineiro has been productive for fantasy players. The veteran kicker has averaged 8.6 fantasy points per game this year, scoring nine or more in over half the contests. While he only scored six fantasy points in Week 5, Pineiro converted his only field goal attempt in the game.

After a quiet performance in Week 5, the veteran kicker should bounce back against the Dolphins. Miami has been one of the more fantasy-friendly teams to kickers this year, giving up 10.4 fantasy points per game to the position. Furthermore, opposing kickers have scored 12 or more fantasy points against the Dolphins in over half the games this season.

Kickers to Avoid in Week 6

Fantasy players should always stream the kicker position. However, it’s important to avoid picking up and starting a kicker that will be a bust. Let’s see which two kickers you shouldn’t pick up off the waiver wire this week.

Cameron Dicker (LAC) vs. Dallas Cowboys (21% Rostered)

Los Angeles has an elite offense and should be healthy coming off their bye week. Cameron Dicker got off to a hot start this year, scoring 22 fantasy points over the first two weeks, totaling 10 or more in both contests. However, he has struggled lately. Over the past two games, the former Texas star has scored nine total fantasy points, making only one field goal attempt.

Unfortunately, the matchup in Week 6 isn’t appealing for fantasy players. The Cowboys have held opposing kickers to only 4.6 fantasy points per game this season. Furthermore, kickers have scored more than six fantasy points against Dallas only once. By comparison, opposing kickers have scored fewer than five fantasy points in over half the contests against the Cowboys this year. Dicker is a talented kicker but he will likely have a poor fantasy performance Monday night.

Matt Gay (LAR) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (16% Rostered)

Matt Gay has been one of the more inconsistent kickers this season. While he averaged 9.4 fantasy points per game in 2023, the veteran had fewer than four fantasy points in nearly half the contests. By comparison, Gay has two games this year with 12 or more fantasy points, including last week against the Tennessee Titans. The veteran converted all three field goal attempts in the game, including a long of 43 yards.

While Gay is coming off an impressive performance in Week 5, fantasy players shouldn’t chase the points. The Jaguars have held kickers to only 4.8 fantasy points per game this season, one of the lowest averages in the NFL. Furthermore, opposing kickers have scored more than five fantasy points only once this year against Jacksonville. Gay had only three fantasy points in the Week 1 matchup against the Jaguars and could have another sub-par fantasy performance this week.
