Andrew Painter

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Andrew Painter (elbow) has begun throwing "short" bullpen sessions. "He's feeling better and better, but that's still a process," Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said. The Phillies placed Painter on the 60-day injured list to begin the minor league season. He has been sidelined since March since being diagnosed with a UCL sprain in his elbow back in March.

The Phillies will be careful with their top pitching prospect and won't rush him back to the big leagues. "He's making strides, but we're being very careful with him, very slow, but he is up on the mound at this point," added Dombrowski. Fantasy managers should continue stashing Painter in all league formats, as he could return and contribute later in the season.

Logan Webb

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb (back) will receive two extra days of rest and will now be pushed back to Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers after leaving his last start with back tightness. Manager Gabe Kapler said there was no cause for concern. Webb threw from 90 feet on Tuesday and didn't have any issues.

"We just like to give a guy an extra day or two when we can," Kapler said. "We saw what it did for Alex Cobb (who has made two starts on six days of rest this season). We want to repeat that from time to time, give guys an extra day and come out with their best stuff." The 26-year-old right-hander has been solid for fantasy managers this year with a 2.91 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 65 strikeouts in 65 innings over 10 starts, but he'll be a bit more of a risk against the Brew Crew this weekend.

Tyler Glasnow

The Tampa Bay Rays are listing starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (oblique) as their probable starter for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Glasnow has been out all year with a left-oblique injury, so Saturday will mark his 2023 season debut.

The 29-year-old hard-throwing right-hander allowed only one run while striking out 20 and walking five over 13 1/3 innings during four minor-league rehab starts for Triple-A Durham. The Dodgers will make for a tough first opponent, though, so Glasnow probably won't be the best DFS bet on Saturday's slate. Still, when he's healthy, he's already proved he can be one of the most dominant starting pitchers in baseball.

Max Fried

Atlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (forearm) played catch on flat ground on Thursday. Once Fried begins building up his arm again, he'll start throwing bullpen sessions, live batting practice and making minor-league rehab starts like he's going through another spring training, so he won't be back in the big leagues for some time.

Still, fantasy managers should be encouraged that the 29-year-old southpaw has been cleared to begin his throwing program. Fried has been shut down for over two weeks with a left-forearm strain. If everything goes well with no setbacks, there's a chance he could rejoin Atlanta's starting rotation before the end of June. Fried was pitching like an ace before his injury and should remain stashed in all fantasy formats.

Julio Urias

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urias (hamstring) is expected to throw a bullpen session later this week. Manager Dave Roberts said Urias will resume throwing on either Friday or Saturday of this week. The left-hander was placed on the injured list Saturday with a hamstring strain.

The hope is that it's not going to sideline him for too long, but sometimes hamstring issues have a tendency to linger. Urias is expected to return around early June. Fantasy managers should expect an update on his status later this week.
