DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/16/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on April 16, 2023. Mike's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have ten of the 15 games today on the main slate, so we've got a big one coming up on your Sunday. It's stack against Patrick Corbin day. What in the hell are we waiting for? Let's get to it!

This article contains my picks for the ten-game main slate on Sunday, April 16, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel which locks at 1:10 PM ET.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Dylan Cease, CWS vs. BAL ($9,200 DK, $11,100 FD)

Cease is off to a hot start this year, netting two wins in his first three starts. He has racked up a staggering 24 strikeouts in just 16.1 innings pitched and only allowed one run in each of his three starts. If that's not enough, take a peep at some of these whiff rates of the Orioles against Cease so far in his career.

Cease's swing-and-miss stuff is going to play well against the Orioles again today. Cease is more of a DK-only play for me considering that he is the fifth-most expensive starter as opposed to second-most on FD.

Mitch Keller, PIT at STL ($7,000 DK, $9,000 FD)

There are some really expensive pitchers out there, but there are some not-so-cheap bats that I want. I'll "punt" with Keller. Why? 22 strikeouts in 17.2 innings, that's why. Yeah, he still gives up a few homers here and there, but Keller has done an excellent job of limiting the damage this year for the most part. The strikeouts are a welcome sight in his progression.

Keller, like many of those Pirates pitching prospects that they traded away, is starting to become a force in the majors. He hasn't allowed a ton of hard contact against the Cardinals in his career, which is a rarity amongst teams he has regularly faced. We are seeing a different Mitch Keller this year. The strikeouts make him a low-risk proposition on a slate where we need the value.

Others to consider: Shane Bieber at WAS; Pablo Lopez at NYY

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Josh Bell - 1B, CLE at WAS ($3,600 DK, $2,300 FD)

Talk about some low-hanging fruit! Bell is batting cleanup at a huge discount. He has had a very productive series against the Nats already with four hits – all for extra bases (three doubles and a homer) – driven in two and scored two in the first two games. Look for him to finish off this series with a bang since all three of his lifetime hits off of Corbin are homers. He also has five walks against Corbin in 15 plate appearances.

Jonathan India - 2B, CIN vs. PHI ($5,400 DK, $3,400 FD)

India is riding a seven-game hitting streak into this one. He hasn't homered since April 1, but he is doing nearly everything else. Aaron Nola hasn't exactly been effective this year and has a 5.06 career ERA at Great American Small Park in three starts. On top of that, India has four hits in five tries off of Nola with a homer. I like this a lot more on FD, but India is still a fine play on DK if you can free up the cash.

Carlos Correa - SS, MIN at NYY ($4,700 DK, $2,800 FD)

Correa has finally caught fire at Yankee Stadium. Both of his homers on the season have come in this series and he has driven in four in the first three games. Yes, capping off the series facing former teammate Gerrit Cole is not an easy task, but Cole has been human against C4. Correa is 6-for-10 lifetime against Cole with a pair of homers. Count me in!

 

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

George Springer - OF, TOR vs. TB ($5,300 DK, $3,700 FD)

Springer's seven-game hit streak came to an end yesterday, but he still walked twice and stole a base. He has been a menace for pitchers across all formats lately, be it at the plate or on the basepaths. All three of Springer's homers and six of his eight RBI on the season have come in the last week. Shane McClanahan has been a tough nut to crack so far this year, but Springer is 5-for-13 with three homers and a pair of walks against McClanahan. There should be more crooked numbers for Springer today.

Josh Lowe - OF, TB at TOR ($3,800 DK, $3,300 FD)

Lowe is the large side of a platoon for the Rays, but he has been on fire when he's in there. Lowe has four multi-hit games in his 11 starts with three homers and seven RBI. Until he cools off, I'll keep using him. On top of that. Alek Manoah hasn't made it through five innings in two of his three starts, including a sub-par outing against the lowly Tigers last week. This is another good spot for Lowe.

Kerry Carpenter - OF, DET vs. SF ($3,000 DK, $2,400 FD)

Carpenter is starting to get a feel for this hitting in the major leagues thing. He has homered twice in the last three games, driving in all three of his runs on the season. The strikeouts are down and the contact is up. Carpenter may never be the kind of guy that racks up a lot of hits, but he does have some power.

 

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Cleveland Guardians vs. Patrick Corbin.

Corbin has allowed 14 runs (12 earned) in just 14 innings this year. Everyone hits him, not just righties. Josh Bell, Amed Rosario, and Andres Gimenez are the easy picks here, but who do you use with them? Jose Ramirez is expensive, but worth it if you have the capital. Oscar Gonzalez and Mike Zunino have struggled some, but this could be the place to use them and they are both cheap.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Luis Cessa

Cessa has allowed seven runs in nine innings so far this year. Now he faces a Phillies offense that is still potent without Bryce Harper in the most hitter-friendly park East of the Rockies. The Reds put up 13 runs on Philly yesterday. They might return the favor here. You can blow through a large portion of your salary here just in Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner, but I think you need them both. Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott are both hitting well and are a good way to save money. And hey, I'm a sucker for Brandon Marsh against righties. That turns this into a much more affordable stack.
