The Baltimore Ravens had a 10-7 record in 2022, finishing second in the AFC North division. Despite dealing with injuries on offense and defense, Baltimore made the playoffs.

Unfortunately, Lamar Jackson didn’t play in the team’s 24-17 playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The star quarterback missed five games last year because of a knee sprain. It was the second consecutive year that the former first-round pick missed five games because of injury.

Baltimore has been the focal point of the NFL offseason this year because of Jackson’s contract situation. The Ravens placed the non-exclusive tag on the star quarterback. He is allowed to negotiate with other teams. However, the Ravens can match any contract offer or receive two first-round picks from Jackson’s new team.

What Are The Baltimore Ravens Biggest Needs On Offense?

With free agency over a week old, the star quarterback will likely return to Baltimore next season. However, the team needs to improve his receiving core. Last year the Ravens traded Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals during the 2021 NFL Draft.

Yet, the team didn’t add anyone significant as a replacement. Furthermore, Baltimore's wide receivers were a massive bust after Rashod Bateman suffered a season-ending foot injury.

Baltimore has had success drafting first-round wide receivers lately. Brown had 195 receptions on 317 targets for 2,361 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons with the team before getting traded. Meanwhile, Bateman has flashed star potential but has struggled with injuries in his NFL career.

One potential draft target is Jordan Addison. The former USC star is an excellent route runner. He had 59 receptions for 875 receiving yards and eight touchdowns last year at USC.

The Ravens have had an impressive defense for the past few years. They made a blockbuster deal at the NFL trade deadline, adding linebacker Roquan Smith from the Chicago Bears. Baltimore recently signed Smith to a five-year extension worth $100 million.

Where the team could use help is at the cornerback position. Marcus Peters is 30 years old and still a free agent. While Marlon Humphrey is one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, the Ravens need to improve their depth at the position.

One potential draft target is Julius Brents. The Kansas State cornerback has impressive size and length. Furthermore, he had four interceptions last season, a career-high. Brents is rising up draft boards and could be a surprise first-round pick in April.
