New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was once the best player in fantasy football. As we inch closer to the 2023 NFL season, however, that is the farthest thing from anyone's mind. The former 67th overall selection of the Saints in the 2017 NFL Draft is in serious off-field trouble.

Will Alvin Kamara Be Suspended in 2023?

The 27-year-old immensely talented back from New Orleans is facing serious allegations stemming from an alleged nightclub beating in Las Vegas last year.

The incident occurred in Vegas during Pro Bowl weekend on February 5, 2022. Kamara, along with three other individuals, is being indicted on battery charges outside a popular nightclub in Sin City. What exactly happened that night is still to be determined; however, none of this bodes well for him or the organization.

Documents released this week state that Kamara and three others were indicted by a grand jury on charges of conspiracy to commit battery and battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. The victim in the case, Darnell Greene, told the police that he was waiting outside an elevator at Drai's nightclub in Vegas when the attack occurred.

Will The Saints Waive Kamara if He is Not Suspended?

The former best player in all of fantasy football is facing serious allegations and could be dealing with an ugly legal battle in the very near future. Things don't look promising for the star Saints running back, as according to police reports, authorities have control of a surveillance video that confirms the victim's accusations.

Kamara has been not only one of the best fantasy weapons in recent years, but he's also been one of the best overall players in the NFL. The star running back has totaled 5,135 yards and 49 touchdowns on the ground while adding 430 receptions in 88 career games.

It's almost certain those numbers will slow down in 2023, as he is not only getting older but is facing a likely suspension. How long his absence will be is yet to be determined, but don't expect number 41 to be on the field when the Saints kick off their season this September.
